The raging headache was one thing but Jayson's whole body was on fire. It seemed like all the fun he was having was putting him on his ass. He groaned trying to get out of bed but he needed a moment to just sit. Jayson was naturally an early riser and was sure he was the only one up.
Reagan 💰
I'm going for a run. If I'm not back by 9, call the coast guard 😂He didn't feel comfortable with her running around the island alone, so he willed himself out of bed to join her.
Give me like 10 mins. I'm coming with you.
Reagan didn't object. She sat at the desk in her room a little longer to write in her agenda for the upcoming week. There was a lot to be done when she got back to the states. When she heard a knock on the door she assumed it was Jayson ready to go.
"You sure you're up for a run?" She asked closing the door behind her. "Absolutely not. Ima walk behind you though."
She laughed because she had no idea why he was even up at this hour but she wouldn't complain. Once they were off the grounds, she lead them onto one of the trails. Ironically they had more alone time on the island than they did back in Boston. The tension between them had changed.
"You run every morning? Got me out here with the gnats and mosquitoes."
Only when I'm stressed she thought. She ran when she had decisions to make. Important ones.
"Not every morning." Reagan wasn't running but power walking along side Jayson. He naturally walked fast and so they wouldn't be far away from one another, she intentionally slowed down and kept her posture for power.
"You had fun yesterday?" He asked, taking in the nature surrounding them. Reagan did have fun, maybe just as much as him. "I did."
"I wanted to apologize for yesterday. I was doing way too much."
"You're fine. You survived, that's what matters."
Jayson meant more than just him being drunk but also the way he had his hands and mouth on her. It wasn't appropriate to him.
"Not just that. The way that I was touching you was beyond the boundaries and I'm sorry."
Reagan didn't mind it one bit. She like his hands and his mouth on her but she couldn't admit that out loud, "Oh, don't worry about that. I was a willing participant. I would've pushed you off if I were uncomfortable."
Noted.
Jayson didn't know what to make of her statement. He kept quiet as they walked. It felt good just being able to take in the breeze. Reagan's mind was going a million miles a minute as she contemplated telling Jayson about her date. For multiple reasons:
1. Advice, she needed it.
She couldn't ask Malcolm, he never met Javier to be able to get a real impression of him.
2. She felt guilty accepting the date.
Jayson spent half the day holding her (before he was drunk) and kissing on her (after he was drunk). It felt like it was something more to whatever it was between them.
