Three Weeks Later
Cherise placed a yellow T-shirt on the final chair in her section before needing a break. She had been working less on CamWorld and much more at events at Chase. The players were on the court getting some practice shots in before a friendly face walked over to say hi.
"How's my favorite attendant doing today?" Moses asked dribbling the ball in front of her. "Tired as hell."
"Damn, working late again? How many jobs you got?" He joked.
"Two too many. You're lucky, you only have to do this one." She sighed. Moses felt bad, he was living his dream while others were still figuring it out. "What's your dream?"
"My dream?" She asked.
"Yeah, everyone got a dream. What's yours?""I really like kids Mo. I wanna be a teacher."
"I'm Mo now?" He raised a brow. They had become oddly familiar with one another every time she worked, which he enjoyed.
"You don't mind that right? I should've asked first." She laughed, her laugh sounded familiar to him but he didn't have time to think about it too much.
"M&M! We need you in this next drill." Kerr yelled. Moses apologized before running back to the court. Cherise thought that he was fine. She used to be overwhelmingly nervous when he would talk to her. By now she was comfortable and could talk to him freely.
"Are you free tomorrow?" Moody asked immediately after the gane. Cherise had collected some of the random items people left to take to lost and found. "Well, the only thing I have to do is study so it depends what you're asking."
"We're doing a basketball clinic in Oakland and you mentioned you liked kids, I thought it made sense for you to come out and talk to them. Maybe network with the schools there for an internship?" Cherise blinked a few times before she formed a response.
"Wow, that was thoughtful. Yeah, I'd like that."
This would be the time for them to exchange information and it put a smile on her face that he had her number now. She hoped that he used it.
••••
Cherise was having the time of her life at the Warriors basketball clinic. She had met a lot of people and got to see kids enjoying themselves which warmed her heart.
Moses could tell that the young woman sparking his interest fully enjoyed being in that element.
"Are you gonna ask her out? You keep staring at her." Klay asked standing next to the younger player.
Moses hadn't thought about it, he didn't want to assume she was interested. If it didn't work out, they worked together and that could ruin the atmosphere.
"I don't know man. I know I can't stop staring though."
"I say you ask, what's the worst that could happen?"As the clinic ended, Moses had the chance to speak to Cherise. "Hey, did you enjoy today?"
"I truly did. Thank you for inviting me out." She smiled, "I also spoke to the principal from a school not too far from here and she said I can stop by and see the campus before discussing a possible job. So I owe you one."
"You don't owe me a thing, I'm glad I could help."
Later that night Moses would log onto CamWorld just to see his favorite do whatever she wanted. Instead of her usual sexy attire, she sported a onesie. The zipper was a little lower than appropriate but he thought the Winnie the Pooh themed ensemble was cute. Her other fans wanted her to unzip more but Cherise wasn't in the mood.
"Leader of the Reesey Puffs declines that offer, you know the rules" she smirks.
Moses purchased the room leaving them to talk alone. Once he adjusted his mic and his octave level, he greeted her. "Hey, how was your day?"
"Hey Rock, it was a pretty good one. How was yours?"
"I can say the same."They both had things to do, so instead of doing anything sexual in nature, they just sat there as if it was a FaceTime. "Are you reading that book for pleasure or for study?"
He asked observing what was in her hand, "For study. You might just know a little too much about me now." She smirked.
"My fault love, I'll just sit here." He laughed.
"You're good, no problem you could ask more if you want. You paid for this time." She giggled."What made you start doing this? If it's too invasive I understand that you won't answer."
Placing the book down, she shrugged "Honestly, I did it for money. It's been hard balancing work and school. I needed something to do on my own time that got me paid quickly. This is the craziest thing I've ever done."
The mystery of the girl behind the camera was slowly coming apart. He was enjoying it but also felt guilty because he had taken a liking to her. This was simply a fantasy world. He didn't know how old she was, where she lived, what her full face looked like or her real voice.
"I can say this is the craziest thing I've ever done too."
