Chapter 5 - The Launch

Colet's POV:

It was another beautiful morning, a gift from above, another chance to start the day with a smile. But then I remembered my masungit na boss.

I quickly got up and prepared myself to start the day. I laid out my clothes before taking a shower.

After finishing my morning routine, I went downstairs to grab some breakfast. I furrowed my brow when I saw my sister and Gwen again. Araw-araw na toh dito ah.

Jasmine: “Ma! Good morning!” Maliksing bati nito sabay lapit sa akin at halik sa pisngi.

“Good morning baby ko! Tara kain na tayo. Good morning, Ma. Oh, Mikha. Napadalaw ka.” Bati ko sa best friend ni Sheena.

This visit was a rare occasion because her house is far from ours. She's also wealthy because her parents are lawyers. She dances with Sheena and they're close friends.

I've known for a long time that she's always with Sheena at the dance club. Pero yung Gweneth talaga ngayon lang nagpakita sa akin, sabi ni Mama matagal na daw 'tong nanliligaw sa kapatid ko. Tss.

Mama: “Kain ka na, anak. Baka ma-late ka pa.”

Mikha: “Good morning, ate Colet!”

Gwen: “G-good morning po.” Bati nito ngunit tinanguan ko lang ito.

Mama: “Siya nga pala anak. Kailan mo ba ipapakilala sa amin yung girlfriend mo.” Baling nito kay Mikha kaya naman napatigil ito sa pagkain at biglang nahiya.

Mikha: “A-ahh eh. Queen is busy po lately eh. But don't worry po. We'll find time to come visit here po.” I didn't pay attention to what she said because I haven't seen or met her girlfriend either. But she said they're from the same dance club.

I quickly ate because I needed to head to work. In the past few days, things at REI had been extremely busy, which is why Ms. Sungit's grumpiness level was at an all-time high.

The reason I was typing those letters for every owner of other companies was because there's a party coming up. REI has a new project, and influential people in the industry were invited to witness the launch of the new project.

So, I understand why Boss is being grumpy. It's a big project, and all eyes are on REI, especially on Boss. There's no room for mistakes.

Office....

As soon as I arrived at the office, I quickly sat down at my desk. But within a minute, Ms. Sungit already gave me orders

Jhoanna: “Kindly call all the important people na pinadalhan natin ng mga letters. Ask their confirmation about the company's event launch.” She ordered with no emotions while focusing her gaze on her work. Sobrang busy niya to the point na hindi man lang niya ako tinatapunan ng tingin.

“Ngayon na po ba, Boss?” I'd ask her and immediately felt nervous when she stopped typing on her keyboard and looked at me.

Jhoanna: “Tatlong araw nalang, launching na. Try mo kaya silang tawagan next month, tingnan natin kung magcoconfirm pa sila at maabutan ang mismong event.” Mataray na sambit nito sabay irap.

“Hehe, sabi ko nga po, tatawagan ko na po now.” I immediately returned to my table. I was just asking, but with all the tasks she gives me, I don't even know where to start. And this isn't even my job! Ms. Averilla should be doing this. This woman's attitude is really terrible. She always finds ways to make things difficult for me.

If the launching weren't important, I would have answered her back earlier.

I quickly went to the information desk and started dialing each phone number. Sana pala nag call center nalang ako. Hays.
