Colet's POV:

Today is our first day here in Laguna with my Boss, her family, and friends. I didn't expect her to have so many friends. Turns out, her friends know my sister, but it seems like my Boss doesn't know them.

I really shouldn't be here, her friends are too insistent. They're also very different from her in personality.

They're really fun to be with, they don't leave me alone. But sometimes, their energy is overwhelming, and I feel pressured.

I'm here in the cottage, hanging out because sleep hasn't visited me yet while everyone else is already asleep. The night is getting deeper so I decided to get some alcohol hoping it would help me fall asleep.

The surroundings are enveloped in fresh air. The voice of the ocean whispers, keeping me awake.

In my whole life, this is the very first time I've experienced such a quiet place because every day was filled with chaos, noise, and hardship for my family before. Sana naman makaangat-angat kami ngayon.

While gazing at the shimmering stars above, I suddenly heard footsteps leaving marks in the sand.

I was surprised because it was my boss who spotted me here. Well, she was also surprised to see me here.

Maybe she couldn't sleep either. She had no other choice, so she entered the cottage since she had nowhere else to go.

Silence enveloped us. Earlier, I was more comfortable with the silence, but when she arrived, I suddenly felt uneasy.

“Hindi ka rin po ba dinadalaw ng antok, Boss?” I asked, a reason for her to glance at me. She's not being grumpy, but her expression is serious.

Jhoanna: “Hindi eh.” I offered her a drink. I'm sure she's old enough, I assume it would be okay for her to have some.

“Gusto niyo po? Pangpaantok.” I was relieved when she accepted it as it meant we would not have an argument.

Jhoanna: “Thank you.” All of a sudden, I paused my drinking and turned to her. It was the first time she'd thanked me since I began working for her.

Jhoanna: “And please stop calling me 'Boss'. One week tayong wala sa opisina.” Sabay lagok nito ng alak.

“How will I adress you then?”

Jhoanna: “Jho, call me Jho. Ikaw? Nicolette 'di ba?”

“Yes, for others. Pero 'pag sa'yo, you can call me Colet.” She looked at me and stared into my eyes, causing me to quickly glance away. I suddenly felt scared... it felt suffocating to meet her gaze.

“Don't stare at me like that, Jho. Baka isipin kong totoong crush mo ako.” I chuckled and took a gulp of my drink, grinning at her. It made me remember how she used to look at me, how she used to gaze at my body. Hello! May abs po ako.

Back in college, I took on almost any job I could to help my parents out even just a bit. This is one of the reasons why I ended up getting some muscles despite being a girl.

Jhoanna: “Sira, masyado kang mahangin. And what made you think na gusto kita?” Mataray na sambit nito habang nakataas ang isang kilay.

“What made me think? HAHAHA Well, aminin mo man o hindi, alam kong nakatingin ka sa akin kanina. And you can't deny it dahil harap-harapan 'yon, Ms. Jhoanna Robles.”
