Reece
"Reece, guess what I heard?" Liam fumed, visibly boiling.
"What?"
I shut my locker, leaning my back against it.
He checked his surroundings as he kept his voice low: "Gage not only is telling the whole school about the Hamptons, but he is saying Scarlett is lying."
I must have been dumbfounded for too long because he added to it: "And he is spreading absolutely false shit about Ella and Cam."
"How does he have any credibility?" I laughed, waving our other brothers I saw in the distance over.
"What's up, guys?" Gabe greeted, dapping us up.
Brandon informed them on the news and they too grew infuriated.
"And to answer your question, Reece," Brandon continued, "the whole grade is talking about it.
Shit, this cannot get back to Scarlett.
"Shit, this cannot get back to Scarlett," Corey spoke, reading my mind.
"Someone call her," Noah said, sighing.
"I'll text Ella," Zach offered.
"Yo, Parker, get over here!" Clay shouted, motioning him to come.
Parker excused himself from his friends as he jogged over. "What's up guys?"
"Are you serious? I know you've heard, Parker. Tell him to fix it before we do."
Parker gulped.
My brothers and I like Parker, somewhat (enough), to know he doesn't like Gage all that much.
"I tried, bro. he's saying he didn't spread it even though he told us all."
I slammed my fist against the metal lockers, the sound beaming throughout the halls.
"I'm going to fucking kill him," I spat, turning to Noah.
"Who's calling Scar?"
Liam raised his hand as his phone was held against his ear.
"Where is he?" Brandon demanded, fiending for some blood to be drawn.
"Outside on the benches."
Clay got hold of Scarlett and said she seemed normal.
Good, she hasn't heard.
Zach said ella wasn't answering and his face displayed worry.
The nine of us sprinted for the main entrance and peeked out the doors.
There was Gage, with Jayden and Olly, on the bench. He was laughing and smiling, practically begging for me to wipe it off his pathetic face.
We pushed through the doors causing a ruckus. Gage shot his head in our direction and immediately his face went lifeless.
"H-Hey, guys!" He tried to smile, but it was clear he was shitting his pants. Jayden and Ollie just stood there, probably knowing what was about to go down.
"You think you can get away with this, hmm?" I growled, getting in his face.
"G-Get away with what?"
"Do not fucking play dumb with me. We have given you fair fucking warnings, asshole."
"Leave our fucking sister alone and do not lie on her name," Gabe joined, looking as angry as I have ever seen.
"And we all know Ella and Cameron were not that serious. She never fucked him. Stop telling people that." Zach said his words with fury, his regular 'goofy' self unrecognizable.
Yeah, he tried to say Ella and Cameron fucked and that's why she was so upset about it. Are you kidding me, Gage? You were half the fucking reason she cried over that imbecile.
"I have no fucking clue what you guys are talking about," he lied once more, standing alongside Ollie and Jayden.
"Is that so? You're saying everyone is lying when they say you're spreading shit?" Noah hissed, "even Parker?"
Gage's eyes went wide. He too now became irritated.
Good, have a taste of your own medicine– Betrayal.
Corey was next to tell him off. "Our sister and Ella are nothing but nice to you. And how do you return it? You fuck Ella over and use the shit out of her and then you put your hands on Scarlett!"
Damn, Cor. Good one.
"I would never do such a thing," Gage shot back, shaking his head and laughing with disbelief.
"Lie one more time, Gage," Liam challenged, getting closest to him.
"You're disgusting," Max spat.
"Those girls are nothing but lovely to you morons," Zach sneered.
"Dick-head," Clay kept short and simple.
"Guys, Scarlett is calling," Brandon said, answering.
"Hello? What? No, Scarlett, not everyone knows. Scar, calm down-," Brandon tried to reassure her, but Gabe snatched the phone.
"Scar, it's Gabe, deep breaths okay?"
We all exchanged looks.
"We got it covered, okay? Barely anyone knows, don't cry."
Zach took the phone. "Are you with Ella?"
Zach nodded to us to convey her response.
"This is not over," I seethed, turning to my brothers to head to fetch the car.
"If you don't fix this, you're dead," Brandon added before following.
Liam got in the drivers seat, me passenger, and Noah, Corey, Clay in the back. The other car had Brandon driving, Gabe passenger, and Zach and Max in the back.
This is how our cars always are. We decided this the first day we got our licenses. Ella and Scarlett bounce around, as do some of us, but these are the main groups.
Pulling up to the front, Ella and Scarlet got in, Clay and Noah moving into the third row.
"Did you guys talk to Gage?" Scarlett asked, breaking the silence on the ride home.
"Why?"
"He gave us dirty looks as we came to the car," Ella explained.
I turned my head for a second to look at them. Their eyes were puffy and they looked tired. All these boys have done since middle school is treat them like shit, make them cry, and negatively reinforce them into feeling worthless.
I may have my (not so) subtle beef with Ella, but I love the kid like family. Neither of them deserve this.
We need a getaway. Stat.
