Scarlett

As if life lately was not already a bit in shambles, Ella and I decided to go camping with Gage and Parker.

Gage had been talking about the idea for ages.

"This will be the most epic camping trip of all time!" Gage exclaimed, opening up his trunk.

"Yeah, yeah," Ella lost her breath, struggling to lift her bag, "not if you don't help me with this."

"Oh, right! Sorry! Where is the gentleman in me?" He said, taking it out of her hands and loading the car up.

"I wonder everyday," Parker scoffed, smirking.

Gage was driving, Parker passenger, and Ella and I in the back, obviously.

The drive was easy and scenic.

We were staying in an established campsite with Parker's tents.

We all argued trying to set the tent up though– it was hard.

"Put that here," Gage gestured with his hands.

"It's my fucking tent, Gage," Parker spat, "I know it doesn't go there!"

"Give me the freaking manual," Ella snatched it from Gage with an eye roll.

Once it was up, however, we were back to normal.

"Good work today, family," Gage said, clinking our water bottles together.

"What now?" Parker asked, out of ideas.

We'd eaten our packed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, attempted to play a board game (Gage got too angry, so we quit), roasted smores, and now we were hydrating.

We were sitting out by the campfire, though these summer nights over here are not too chilly.

"Let's talk!" Ella cheered.

"About what?" Parked replied.

"Deep conversation! Let's play truth or truth!" I grinned.

Gage was on board. "Let's fucking do it!"

We all went back into the tent and got comfy.

The tent was the perfect size for probably six people– it was huge.

We all could have our own personal space with our sleeping bags.

"Who first?" I looked around.

We played eeny, meeny, miny, moe and Gage was chosen to ask the first question.

"Ella, why did you get with Reece the same night as Zach?"

All of our eyes widened.

"What?" Ella said, knowing what he meant, just taken aback.

"Chill, El! It's just an innocent question!"

"I had a lot of feelings for them both, and I was really drunk," she sounded uncomfortable, "I love Zach, though, so that's what matters."

Off to a rocky start!

A couple more questions came in, and tensions were high.

"Why did you even set me up with Cameron?" Ella had asked Gage.

"Why did you even get with me?" Parker tried to ask Ella.

"Why did you screw me, and them two, over with Fiona?" Parker asked Gage.

"Why did you betray me by getting with Josh?" Gage questioned me.

"Why did you help Izzy cheat on my brother?" I directed at Parker.

"Why did you fuck all your brothers friends?" Parker asked me.

"Why do all the brothers hate you two?" Gage questioned Ella and I.

"Okay, enough!" I shouted.

"This got too out of hand," Ella sighed.

"What were we even thinking," Parker laid back in his sleeping bag.

"Night," Gage said, turning over.

He was fuming, I knew it.

I mean, all of us were, but Gage especially.

He can't come down from being mad that easily.

The morning came and we silently packed things up.

I went to throw out trash in a garbage bin a few feet away, and Gage chased after me.

"Hey. Wait up!"

I slowed down a bit, turning my head to him as I continued on my way.

"Are you upset?" he asked me.

I tossed the stuff into the bin. "No."

He stared at me.

"A little," I said.

"You know how I get," he sighed, "I'm sorry."

"That isn't an excuse," I said, walking off.

He followed.

"I know, I just, I don't know, Scar."

Ella and I went to load up Gage's car together.

"Gage apologize to you?" she asked me.

"Same apology as always," I replied, "you?"

"Oh yeah," she huffed.

The ride home was odd.

Gage tried to make conversation, but nobody was still completely out of their mood.

We did have a few normal talks, though.

Gage and Parker carried our bags to our doors, and we waved goodbye as they drove off.

We walked in, yelling that we were home to everyone.

Though tensions were a bit high at home, too.

"How was it?" Brandon asked, turning to look at us from his spot on the couch.

"Not the best," Ella truthfully answered.

"We told you not to go," Corey sighed.

"Good for you," I patted his head, motioning for them two to help us with our bags.

The four of us will be okay soon, I'm sure.
