"Guys, seriously," Brandon shouted, "let's go!"
"Brandon, it's six in the morning! Calm down," Ella groaned, shouting.
I dragged my luggage down the steps, the weight of it almost dragging me instead.
"Help," I said once I got to the bottom, not looking up. I just hoped someone was near.
"Jesus," Gabe huffed, lighting my bag for me, "you're lucky I'm strong."
Ella came down shortly after and went into the kitchen. She returned and tossed me a granola bar. "Do you think Brandon will stop at Starbucks?"
"Do you seriously not know the answer to that?" Liam jumped in, laughing.
The answer would be no.
Once the cars were loaded, we randomly divided up.
Liam and Brandon were driving us to the airport, so it didn't exactly matter.
We're going to Miami, Florida!
Ella, Zach, Reece, Gabe, and I were in Brandon's car.
Noah, Max, Corey, and Clay were in Liam's car.
Rachael, Maddie, Charlie, Aidan, and Jules were meeting us there.
As we were getting into our cars, we heard Clay and Noah arguing.
"I called shotgun!" Noah shouted, tugging at Clay's arm.
Clay's hand was gripping the safety handle. "You should have been quicker, then!"
They kept bickering back and forth.
"Guys, we are literally just driving, like, an hour to the airport. Shut up and get in," Liam stopped them.
I shut the door to my car, laughing.
"Trip is off to a great start!" Gabe joked.
The plane ride was fine. So was the Uber.
The arrival, yeah that was bumpy.
"Are you sure this is the correct destination?" Corey asked the Uber driver.
"This is the address you told me," the guy replied, sighing.
This was our third time asking him.
"Hey, third times the charm," Max grinned, playfully hitting the guy's shoulder.
"Don't touch me, kid."
Max gulped.
"Brandon, check the listing," Liam suggested.
"Max, pull it up?" Brandon turned to him. He nodded.
"Who the fuck let this idiot book the AirBNB?" Reece scoffed. We all laughed.
"Hey, I am very responsible-," Max began, but stopped short.
His eyes widened. His face went pale, as if he'd seen a ghost.
"Max, why do you look like you need to take a massive shit?" Noah asked.
"Oh, guys, that's the house right there, right?" Clay asked, pointing to the neighboring home.
"There are cars in the driveway of that, though," I noticed.
"No, that's the one I told Max to book," Brandon clarified, looking at it.
"Yeah, so um, about that. Funny story! I may or may not have booked the wrong house," Max laughed, clearly nervous.
"You better not have," Liam hissed, already angry.
"No, no, I did," Max stated.
"Can you guys get out, please?" the Uber driver asked.
Once the car was unloaded, we found ourselves all standing in the main entrance.
All sixteen of us.
And it was small.
Small for sixteen people.
The house opened into the living room. There was one white couch, a coffee table, a tiny TV, and the dining room table to the side of the couch. The dining room table with six chairs, might I add. The kitchen was tiny and U-shaped with no additional seating. One full bathroom was down here, too.
"So much for having a beachfront villa," Ella said, referring to the AirBNB's listing name of what Max should have booked.
"Yeah, sorry," Max sheepishly rubbed his head.
We dropped our bags and decided to explore the upstairs. There were four bedrooms. One of them had a bathroom. The upstairs also had another bathroom between the other three bedrooms.
"This is fucking crazy," Rachael said, looking around.
"Yeah, are we actually going to be able to stay here?" Jules questioned.
"It's spring break. We have no choice. Everything is probably booked by now," Liam replied.
Ella and I looked at each other.
"DIBS ON THIS ROOM," she and I shouted in unison, running to the one with the bathroom.
"What? No fair!" Zach whined.
Ella peaked her head out the doorway. "Zach, that means you get it, too!"
"Oh, yeah," he began running, turning in his tracks to face everyone else, "suckers!"
Aidan followed suit.
Brandon, Rachael, Liam, and Jules decided to be roommates and chose next.
Max, Maddie, Corey, and Charlie decided since they were the last remaining couples, they'd room together. They chose next.
That left Reece, Gabe, Clay, and Noah. Clay and Noah were pissed while Reece and Gabe were ecstatic.
"Boys, think of it this way," Reece faced Clay and Noah, "we get to whore around together!"
The energy was rather miserable. Everyone was pissed at Max. Though, some people were getting over it until there was a line for the bathroom.
"I AM GOING TO SHIT IN YOUR BED IF YOU DON"T HURRY UP IN THERE," Liam screamed, banging on the bathroom door. Corey was in there.
"God, please do not," Charlie said, walking past him.
"This is going to be so entertaining," Aidan laughed.
The four of us were chilling in our room.
"Yeah, but how are we going to sleep?" Zach wondered.
"Maybe lay horizontal?" Aidan suggested, Zach nodding in agreement.
"Uh, no," Ella laughed, "Scar and I get the bed."
"And you two," I pointed at them, "get the floor!"
"Are you joking?" Zach asked, furrowing his brows.
"Nope!" We cheesed.
After some back and forth, they had no choice but to comply with our demands.
"LOOK AT THE GROUP CHAT," Ella shouted, staring at her phone with her jaw hanging low.
It was a text from Gabe saying to check Gage's story.
I opened Instagram and sure enough, it was the house next door.
"Yeah, I actually just saw them went I went to grab our food delivery," Clay typed back.
"How the fuck does he know we're here?" I replied.
Clay replied again. "That also was my doing, I think. I told Parker."
"I am going to kill Clay," Ella hissed, throwing her phone into the pillows.
"Just avoid him," Zach shrugged.
"He's Gage! That's impossible!" I argued.
"That's funny. He booked the house Max was supposed to," Aidan laughed. Nobody else did.
"Tough crowd!" He added.
This trip kept getting worse and worse!
