Brandon

"You should stop bossing everyone around, you're going to have gray hair by the time you're 20," Reece joked, as he leaned against the arm of the couch.

I wanted to rip his hair out.

"What do you know about Becca, huh?" I snapped, turning towards him as I paused the television.

"I know that if you get with Becca, Paige is going to be hurt," he replied, smirking.

Paige was Becca's sister who was a year older, actually. I got with her a few months ago, but only once. I'm actually talking to Becca. She's in our grade.

"You are such a hypocrite," I groaned, but he interrupted me.

"Look, Becca is a smoking hot girl, but you're playing with fire, dear brother," he said as if his 'advice' was helping me.

"I got with Paige once! A year ago! Have you ever looked in the mirror?"

He smiled. "Every morning I look at this beautiful face."

This idiot.

"You're one to be talking," I scoffed, sitting up.

"What do you mean?"

"Ella," I said, causing his eyes to widen, "yeah, I know."

"H-How?" he whispered, leaning closer to me.

"It's obvious, Reece. I'm not stupid like you."

"Who else knows?"

"Scarlett and Gabe, but you know that," I said, rolling my eyes.

"Scarlett knows?" he said, taken aback.

I nodded.

"Ella didn't tell me that?"

"Awkward! Anyways, are we done here?" I smiled sassily, to which he slowly nodded, clearly contemplating something.

I turned the television back on. "Great!"

Reece

"I swear dude, Zia and Zio literally told me that all we'd have to do to get to Mom and Dad is to-," Corey was speaking as he entered the upstairs bathroom alongside Max.

I groaned loudly, causing Corey to jump.

"Oh, Reece! Hey! Didn't see you there," he greeted, "I was just telling Max about how-"

"Corey, save yourself the explanation," I sarcastically smiled, patting his shoulder, "I don't want to hear it."

His expression dropped. "But it is about how we could get to Mom and Dad!"

"I don't care! Why don't you two just give up already?"

Max scoffed. "Give up? On our parents? On a complete family? Maybe for you, mister coldhearted, that's easy. But for us, not so much."

"You know how to make it easier then? Stop."

"Why is there a stick up your ass right now?" Corey judged, rolling his eyes as he turned to leave.

"You're such a dick, Reece," Max complained, "you know that?"

"My middle name," I smirked as I finished applying the Kinesio tape to my left bicep.

"We aren't giving up," he loudly stated, making me chuckle.

"You'll give up sooner or later. It's not like mom and dad will enter our lives anytime soon."

"You know what, I'm not going to be rude. I get it, you miss them. You're taking it out on us," Max attempted to profile me, making me angry.

"You don't know shit, Max. I don't miss them."

"Yeah, okay!"

"You miss them. You were their goofy little boy who ran to Mom and Dad whenever you thought of a new dance to show them or a stupid joke to tell," I spat, gesturing as I spoke.

He came over to me and shoved my arm directly where I put the tape, making me grunt as I grabbed it.

He bolted out the room and I went to chase him, but instead slammed my fist onto the bathroom door.

That left a hefty hole...

I was in the living room with Noah when Gabe and Zach came in hysterically laughing.

Gabe looked happy, very, and that made me happy, but how close he's getting to Zach again sort of makes me upset.

I know it sounds stupid, because I'm basically saying I'm jealous of my brother being close with my other brother, but I don't know.

I felt like I finally had somebody I could tell everything to.

I always made fun of Scarlett and Ella for telling each other anything and everything that happened to them, even the minor details, to the other, but I understood it after I found myself doing the same to Gabe.

I was behaving like my teenage sister– like a teenage girl.

"I think I'll put money on Izzy for the fight," Noah told me, talking about the bet he'd place for the upcoming MMA fight.

I snapped back into reality. "Yeah, good idea."

"You good?"

"What? Yeah, why?"

"I don't know," he said, "you're just staring at Zach and Gabe."

"I was just eavesdropping," I shrugged.

Truth is, I'm scared Gabe is going to tell Zach about Ella and I.

I mean, I guess now I have Brandon and Scarlett to talk to about Ella, but that wasn't by my telling.

Gabe may not have heard about her and I from me first, but I'm so glad he found out when he did. He's given me great advice.

He's a real empath, man. The kid's a teddy bear.

A teddy bear who can also be a gremlin with me, which I love.

"Yo, what's good?" Gabe made himself known, dapping Noah and I up.

"Actually, I'm thirsty. Want to come grab a glass of water with me?" I suggested it to Gabe, to which he accepted.

"Bro, Zach and I were trolling these two girls from the town over," Gabe laughed, "and it was so fucking funny. We pretended to be two Swedish transfer students and told them all this made up shit we 'had' to do in Sweden!"

I faked a laugh. "You're foul for that."

"Yeah, but anyways," Gabe continued, sitting at the island, and looking around as he lowered his voice, "how are you and Ella?"

"Fine, but um, can I ask you something?"

He bobbed his head for me to go on.

"You wouldn't tell Zach, right?"

He looked a bit hurt.

"Reece, really?"

"It's just, I don't know, you two look like you're back in the telling each other everything stage," I tried to play it cool, sipping my water.

"I would never do that. Ever," He assured me, emphasizing the last word.

I nodded.

He patted my back with one arm as he exited, but I was still unconvinced.

I know how those two used to be, and I feel like this may not end well.

But hell, I'm stubborn and don't trust anyone's word, so perhaps I'm the problem.
