ScarlettPee, pee, pee, pee...
I spoke out loud. "Pee, pee, pee, I need to pee."
I watched as Josh's girlfriend, Emma, made her way around a corner.
The corner.
The corner to the bathroom.
Bingo.
Perfect.
Stars aligned.
This is the best—
"Hey, Scar!" Zach stopped me, smiling.
"Hi! Hey! Hello! Got to go!" I replied, turning back around.
He held onto me, though. "What? I haven't seen you all night! I just wanted to catch up!"
"Sure! Ketchup is in the fridge, probably. Most likely," I slurred.
"Ketchup? What? No, I- Ah, forget it, you're too drunk," he shook his head, releasing me.
"Hey, mean! Don't be mean!" I crossed my arms and pouted.
"I'm not being mean," he defended, then lowered his voice and came closer, "but hey, want to hear some gossip?"
No.
Not now.
"Sure!"
"Gabe and Marlowe got caught fucking in the dining room!" he laughed, holding his belly.
"Ew! Why!" I fake-gagged, shaking my head from the idea.
He shrugged.
"Okay, great interaction, but I really have to pee," I told him, my legs crossed in the piss-stance.
"Oh, Emma just went in there," he awkwardly scratched his head at having to mention her name.
"No biggy! I'm as cool as... uh, Iggy! By Zachy!" I exclaimed, running off.
I banged on the bathroom door.
"One moment!"
So I knocked harder.
And quicker.
"Occupied!" she called out.
"I so totally really have to pee," I said, my scratchy voice evident from crying.
'Crying.'
Wink wink.
I was an actress.
Emma immediately opened the door, stepping to the side. "Oh my, come in!"
I walked in and did my business, because well, a girl did have to pee.
As I was washing my hands, I began to break down.
'Breakdown.'
"Oh, woah, hey, girl," she grabbed a towel for my hands, "are you okay?"
"No, I'm actually doing horrible," I sobbed, drying my hands and then sliding down the bathroom wall.
She crouched down beside me. "Do you maybe want to talk about it?"
"I'd just sound stupid," I scoffed, embarrassed.
"You wouldn't, trust me," she smiled, comfortingly.
"Well, um, it's just that my ex is here on this trip and with his new girl– Josh and, I don't even know her name," I sobbed through my lies.
Her demeanor changed and her voice cracked, but she cleared her throat as a cover up. "Oh, um, and? Does that, uh, bother you?"
"I mean, who wouldn't be bothered after what he did?"
"What'd he do?"
"He told me he loved me and that he was dedicated to me and only me, like, a day before he got this girlfriend," I cried, using the towel to blow my nose.
"What?" she spat in shock.
"Right! Not to mention, that was after I gave him a second chance for cheating on me after he basically put on the same act."
"You're kidding," she scoffed, now leaning against the wall.
"I wish I was."
"He said all of that then got a girlfriend the next day?" she clarified.
I nodded.
"Oh my God," she spoke out loud.
"I'm sorry, this was stupid of me," I stood up, giving her a hand, "I'm going to go back out there."
I wiped away my tears and patted myself off before leaving.
I turned in the doorway. "Thanks for listening."
"No, it was my pleasure. Really."
I smiled at her and migrated back into the party scene.
I distracted myself with some beer pong, talks with some friends, and disposable pictures with Ella.
I was letting my magic run its course.
"Hey, I saw you and Emma in the bathroom together," Noah told me, "are you okay?"
"Yeah, I just really had to pee and I couldn't hold it," I answered, tossing the pong ball and landing it in a cup.
"Bottoms up, bitch," I mocked Brandon, giggling.
He flipped me off, drinking.
"I'm winning," I told Noah, grinning.
He laughed. "Nice, Scar. But are you sure everything was okay?"
"Yes, I was in and out, Noah. Thanks," I placed my hand on his shoulder, then went back to my game.
He believed me, I think, and walked away.
"Fuck you! You're disgusting!" I heard a voice yell from a distance.
"That'd be great content, huh?" Finn joked.
"Oh, yes it would be," I sipped my drink mischievously.
"Scarlett, you won't believe what I just heard," Corey approached me, and I nodded my head indicating for him to go on.
"Josh's girlfriend just broke up with him and left. They got into this huge fight," He laughed, making me smirk.
"Really? That's terrible," I replied, "but karma is a bitch."
"Cheers to that," he said, clinking his drink against mine.
And so we drank to those words.
