Sal and I were hanging out today as usual.
But he told me a specific piece of information.
"Gage has a girlfriend," I told Ella, delivering the juicy gossip Sal told me about Gage.
"WHAT?" She yelled, similar to my reaction earlier.
"I know," I matched her energy, "isn't that crazy?"
"Why do you two care what he does?" Brandon asked, his tone full of annoyance.
Ella and I were sitting at the kitchen island, some of my brothers scattered about the room.
"I mean, that's just crazy," Ella restated. I nodded.
"Who gives a fuck," Reece waved his hand, as if he was swatting the news away.
"We do," Ella shot back.
"You two care too much," he rolled his eyes.
"Shut up, Reece," I spat.
"Alright, before an argument breaks out," Brandon switched gears, "new topic."
"How's your boyfriend?" He wondered, continuing.
"Hopefully shitty," Liam scoffed.
"Really? That was your idea of a non-argument starter?" Ella judged.
"This house is just too tense over every little thing," Brandon defended himself.
"Well, Liam, I'll have you know," I replied anyways, "that it isn't going great."
"Oh, actually? Why?" Brandon asked.
"I'm just confused and," I was gonna go on, but stopped, "and I don't know."
And caught up on comparing him to Josh I wanted to say.
"Damn, sorry to hear that," Liam sarcastically grinned.
"Oh please, Liam," I scoffed, "as if you have a love life."
"I had the love of my life, but you two," he looked at Ella and I, "know why I do not."
"Hey, she said the family was too much for her," Ella put her arms up, "not just us."
"We all know what she meant," Reece chuckled.
"Alright, enough," Brandon yelled, "let her speak."
"Thanks, Brandon," I smiled, glaring at the other two.
"I just think Sal is not for me. Don't get me wrong, I really like him, but we'd be better off as best friends."
"Well, I'm sorry to hear that," Brandon replied.
"Are you breaking up with him?" Gabe spoke up.
"I think so, but I'm not sure. I haven't decided."
"Are you sad?" Brandon wondered.
"A bit, I guess," I shrugged.
"Please, he looks like a girl," Liam rolled his eyes, "like Ariana Grande would say, 'thank you next!'"
How about when next is your ex...?
"That was disgusting," Ella tried not to laugh.
"It'll hurt," Gabe replied to me, ignoring Liam, "but you'll be fine."
"Yeah, it was short lived," Brandon added.
"Yeah," I agreed.
But I'm truly quite sad.
What if we don't stay friends?
I've enjoyed being friends with Sal and the rest of them.
"Sorry, I don't mean to invalidate it," Brandon apologized, "but it gets harder before it gets easier."
"I guess so," I sighed.
"Gage boo-ed up and you aren't," Reece laughed, "that's tough!"
I looked at him with a straight face, but that made more laughter break out.
"Her name is Giulia," Corey walked in, adding to the conversation.
"Giulia Peters?" Ella and I widened our eyes.
"Yeah."
She isn't even ugly.
"How on earth did he pull that off?" Ella gasped.
"He had a rather strange approach that probably would only work on 30 percent of women," Corey replied.
Interesting...?
"Wait, isn't she 15?" I realized, asking aloud.
"Indeed she is," Reece answered.
"Typical Gage," Gabe brushed off.
Poor Giulia.
"Are you two still friends with him?" Corey asked Ella and I.
"What do you think?" Ella crossed her arms.
"Yes?"
"No!"
"Oh."
"We're on fine terms, though," I shrugged.
"Yeah, sure," Brandon laughed in disbelief, "doesn't he always say that?"
"Then shit talk you guys?" Gabe continued.
"Typical Gage!" Ella repeated.
Hopefully that is not the case this time.
