Brandon

"You won't fucking believe the gossip I was just delivered," Max exclaimed, running into the living room.

We were all being screen-agers (teenagers who don't speak, just use their phone) on the couch.

Just my brothers and I, though.

I'm not sure where the girls are.

"Let it rip," Clay urged, being the first to shut his phone off.

"Do not let it rip," Gabe begged, making us chuckle.

The rest of us switched our phones off and looked at Max who was standing in front of us.

"Sal was who was getting with Jules after you two broke up," he dropped the bomb, looking at Liam.

"Sal, like," Reece racked his brain, "Scarlett's Sal?"

"Oh yeah," Max replied.

"You're kidding," Liam seethed.

"No way," Noah gasped.

Long story short, Jules taunted Liam for weeks about this "new boy" and how he "treated her so much better."

Those were definitely lies, and that's a fact because she'd only reveal this information when she'd drunk call him.

Why would you drunk call your ex if your new guy is so good, you know?

"We have got to tell Scarlett," Corey said, everyone nodding in agreement.

"She's not dating the kid," Zach shrugged, "it should be easy."

"That pathetic little bitch," Liam hissed, talking about Sal.

"I don't know about easy," Reece voiced, "she likes the kid a lot."

"She told you that?" Gabe mocked, cracking a smile.

"She didn't have to," Reece kept his tone cool, "I know how to read a woman."

"Shut up," Max rolled his eyes, taking a seat.

"Hey, my sister and I are tight! We have relationship talk!"

Everyone other than Liam let out a laugh.

See, that's also funny because his big love was, is, our sister's best friend...

Anyways!

I decided to pull out my phone to find her whereabouts.

"It says she is on the street over," I said, analyzing her location.

"Perfect timing," Corey chirped.

We all waited, stirring up a slight conversation.

Reece and Liam were arguing over the best football quarterback of all time as if Liam didn't have a bigger problem on his hands.

The door opened and closed.

I could hear Scarlett's shoes be kicked off and she began walking past the living room.

We were all staring at her.

It seemed like an intervention– it was.

"Why are you guys being weird?" she asked, confused as she turned and saw our glares.

She literally jumped at the sight of us all.

"Sit," Max told her, "it's important."

"Did somebody die?" she asked, seriously.

"No," I replied, "just sit."

She sat down criss-cross applesauce, awaiting for us to speak.

She looked good, happy too.

She was wearing a nice outfit and her hair and makeup was done.

"Where were you, Scar?" I wondered.

"With Sal," she said, confirming my suspicions.

"Why?" she added.

I felt bad.

She liked him, I could tell.

Reece was right, but it can't be because he "knows how to read a woman."

This is going to slightly break her heart.

She gets attached too easily.

"No reason," I smiled, "just asking about your day."

"You guys are scaring me," she said, looking at us all.

"Scarlett, you know how Liam was going through it with Jules after the breakup, right?" Max began.

She nodded. "Yeah, like the whole new guy shit?"

Noah now went on. "Yes, well turns out Max heard some news today."

"That new boy was Sal, Scarlett," Max finished, making her eyes widen.

"No way!" She said in shock.

"Yes way, girl. And we know you like him, but no more! Say adios to Sal-io!" Reece sped up the point, making Clay swat his arm.

"Wait, what? You guys are telling me to stop seeing him?" She looked baffled.

Why did she look baffled?

"I'm sorry," Liam scoffed, "is that so hard to ask?"

"He's a good guy!" she defended.

"He was a dick to Liam," Noah argued, "don't you remember that one phone call?"

Jules and, now we know, Sal called Liam and were being rather inappropriate on the phone, if you know what I mean.

"He is a messy drunk, so what? We all are!" She shouted back.

She even glared at Liam with that one.

"Scarlett, this is your brother we are talking about," I tried to reason, "you practically just met Sal!"

"I like him, Brandon! He is actually sweet!"

"Oh, is he? That's sweet to you?" Liam fumed.

"Sorry," she stood up, "I guess I'm just a bitch and a slut."

She stormed off, adding, "just like you said."

"I mean, why would she help you out?" Zach said, earning a nasty look from Liam.

"It's true," he followed.

"She'll come around," Noah comforted Liam.

"Yeah, she'll feel bad," Corey joined in.

"She likes him," I shrugged, "not much we can do."

"Well, I'm pissed," Liam made clear.

"Yeah, I'm sure we all are," Max said, "Scarlett is going out with a dick!"

"I knew I hated that kid," Gabe said, which surprised me.

"You did?" I asked.

"Just got the vibe," he told me.

"He will not be allowed under any roof of ours, that's for sure," Reece huffed.

"He'd meet my fists before he has even met me," Liam threatened.
