Third Person POV
This year, Valentine's day was a big deal in the Romano household. Seven of the eleven were in relationships—relationships of varying levels of healthiness and happiness.
Least happy and healthy of them all were Charlie and Corey, who rarely heard "I love you" from one another. But today, it was the thing to do!
Corey took Charlie out to dinner at a nice steakhouse in the city that the decuplets frequent.
"This place is nice," Charlie said, pleased as she picked at her filet.
"Yeah, I always come here," Corey replied, aggressively sawing off pieces of his steak.
"But you've never taken me here before," she pointed out.
"Guess not."
"Is this where you take your other bitches?"
He recoiled. "What?"
"You heard me!"
"Charlie, don't be ridiculous."
It was too late: she had called over the waitress.
"Have you ever seen this boy with another girl at this lovely establishment?" Charlie asked.
The waitress looked bewildered, putting her hands up in defense. "No, never," she swore.
"Did he pay you to say that?" she prodded.
"No!" the waitress exclaimed.
Charlie rolled her eyes and shooed her away. "You're off the hook today," she said as if she was annoyed there wasn't evidence.
"You know I only have eyes for you. I love you, Char," Corey said sincerely. "Today and every day."
"I love you, too, Cor, but if you do have other bitches, just know I will find out one way or another."
They snapped back into normal conversation, continuing to eat their food as if nothing had happened. It was just another of Charlie's moments. They were something Corey had to deal with if he wanted a girlfriend. Before her, he got absolutely zero action, so you can imagine he'd go to greater lengths to keep his crazy girlfriend than the average boy would.
On the opposite end of the spectrum are the honorary parents of the household, Brandon and Rachelle. Though, like nearly everyone else, it was their first Valentine's day together, everyone felt like they had been together forever.
For that reason, they opted for a night in.
"Let's watch 'Valentine's Day'!" Rachelle suggested. She's talking about the 2010 star-studded film, of course.
"Oh, well—"
"Please? Taylor Swift's in it!" she pleaded.
He gave in, knowing how much she loved the singer. "Alright, alright," he said.
"This is why I love you," she said, kissing his cheek and putting the movie title into Netflix.
"I love you, too. For some reason," he teased. She swatted his arm, giggling.
The movie played, and at the end, Brandon said, "that was actually pretty good. Cheesy, but good."
"Told you so!" Rachelle grinned as she popped the last piece of popcorn into her mouth.
Somewhere in between those two extremes lies the renewed relationship of Jules and Liam, who are technically the only ones spending their second Valentine's day together. Though not 100% healthy, they were very, very happy on this holiday.
