Scarlett
I was just casually scrolling through my social media feed when I saw something, no, someone familiar.
Doing a double take, I quickly scrolled back to what I had previously passed.
My thoughts were confirmed.
This girl on my feed was posing with Josh, kissing.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
My heart sank to the tip of my toes.
I swear we just ended things.
Not to mention that it was because he got with another girl after saying how committed he was to me.
If all he said was true, how did he move on so fast?
I felt sick.
Upon further investigation, I noticed a name I knew too well in the photo's likes.
Clay.romano
Tears were running out my eyes as I shot up from my bed.
I raced down to the living room after I saw Clay's room empty.
Great, all 9 of my brothers were present.
And I am a bawling mess.
A fountain streaming out my eyes.
I'm living in a soap opera– I'm the entertainment.
Well, showtime!
I ran over to where Clay was and shoved my phone in his face.
"You fucking knew about this?" I shouted through my tears, choking on my sobs.
Everyone looked worried and somebody paused the television.
"What?" Clay replied, confused.
He took my phone to steady it from my shaking hands.
When he saw the image, he shut his eyes and took a deep breath.
"Yeah, I did, but why are you angry at me?"
"Why didn't you tell me? Why did you like the photo?" I shouted, cried, both.
"Scarlett, this," he said, waving his hand around me, "is exactly why."
"I'd rather hear it from you than see it on my own!"
I kept going. "And that doesn't answer my question of why you'd like the photo!"
"You would have reacted the same way, Scar," Brandon tried to reason, his voice attempting to be consoling.
"Wait," I said, examining all their faces, "you all knew!"
Everyone sheepishly nodded.
"I cannot believe this," I coughed, collapsing into an empty spot on the couch.
"I'm sorry, Scarlett," Gabe said, sounding genuine.
"He said so much shit to me days before this became a thing," I scoffed, sniffling, "I mean, clearly they're dating!"
"They are," Corey confirmed, which I knew, but hearing it was another dagger straight to my heart.
I shut my eyes in an attempt to disassociate.
This didn't feel real.
I never thought I'd see the day Josh moved on, but I also never thought it would hurt me this much.
"You love him, Scarlett," Zach stated, "it's going to hurt like hell."
"It hurts worse than just hell," I whined, placing my head into my hands.
