Thanksgiving
Gossip Girl Style.

Third person view

The decuplets sat at a long table adorned with a great number of Thanksgiving foods. Everyone had (tried) to make something in order to maintain that sense of family. The kitchen was an absolute mess which Brandon complained about for days, but no one cared to clean it up until after the holiday had passed.

Everyone was dressed nicely as they began to take their seats, surveying the great selection of food. Brandon was the first to speak, as always. "How about we go around and say one thing we are grateful for. I'll go first. I am grateful that Ella's turkey is not burnt."

Reece, on his right hand, went next. "I am grateful for my recent success in sports. Both."

Then Corey: "I am grateful for the same thing myself."

Max continued, "I am grateful that I am not so shallow to only care about sports. I am grateful for you guys, even though we've had a rough month, which I am still very much not over." The tension rose immediately.

Brandon scowled. "Max, can we please, please, just have a normal family Thanksgiving? No drama?"

Max laughed. "Brandon, you take things too seriously. Can I not joke around a little?"

"It's not a joke, and it shouldn't be brought up right now," he reiterated sternly.

Max looked wine drunk already. "Just relax. Honestly, you're just mad because no one takes you seriously around here. News flash, you can't replace our parents, and you can't force us to do shit. I'll say what I want."

"Max, you are just mad because you have hobbies, no guidance or purpose in life. You need someone like me telling you what to do." The tension climbed even higher. Brandon was the last person to throw petty insults.

Max fought back, "At least I let people live their lives. You wouldn't know a thing about that," he spat as he left the table.

"Seems like no one wants to let me live my life," Scarlett mumbled.

Gabe started, "We're trying to protect you, Scarlett. You're just mad because you want to get into Josh's pants so badly it's sickening."

Scarlett looked appalled, ready to defend herself. "Sickening?" she repeated dramatically, then shouted, "you're just mad that Ella chose a different brother. You're jealous that some people actually get some action!"

"That's low." Gabe scoffed as he followed his brother out of the room.

Before anyone could react to that statement, Liam interjected, "No, that's not why she's mad. She's mad because she wants all of our friends. Why have one cookie when you could have two!" He mocked. Scarlett rolled her eyes and aggressively scooted her chair back before she stormed out.

Reece chimed in, "speaking of cookies, Ella seems hungry enough for three! Isn't that right, Miss Thirteen?" he questioned as he chucked three chocolate chip cookies at her.

"Oh, look who's talking!" She retaliated, "it's the kid who ratted on his brother without him ever knowing. Yeah, Zach, he told me your little secret," she said as she chased after Scarlett.

Zach became infuriated, opening his mouth to shout at Reece before Clay cut in, eyes shooting daggers through Zach. "The real reason you're angry right now is that you were too pussy to say something to Ella before Reece could."

Zach shot back, "I may not have the balls for that, but at least I have confidence in my soccer ball. You're yelling at me because I'm getting scouted for soccer and you're not. Jealousy is not cute on you, Clay."

"I cannot believe this is happening right now," Brandon roared. He stood dramatically up from the table, echoing the anger of those who had already left.

A chorus of "me neithers" rang across the table as the remaining group fled the scene, leaving only Corey and Noah awkwardly staring at one another.

"Well, um, why are you mad?" Noah ventured.

"I'm mad because I'm short three whole cookies! Why are you mad?"

"I made the damn cookies!"
