Third Person POV:

The sirens began singing, but were shocked and angry to find the little group was unaffected. So, they charged at them.

Alon sang and fought at the same time, having a good affect on those he fought.

Raidne was using her new found powers as a mermaid. She was doing well, but she wasn't as strong as the sirens in the slightest. Raidne was still very new to her powers. She barely knew anything about being a mermaid.

Marina fought well. She hit one of the sirens in the face with her tail. "No one hurts my family." she said firmly before tossing the stunned siren away just as Alon's mother charged at her. Harmony was fighting Alon's father. He smiled wickedly at her before singing.

 "Ugh! Why aren't you affected?!"

"M-my secret." Harmony smirked, taking advantage of his distraction and whipping her tail around, hitting him.

"Please, Cousin Dylan!" Aerwyna pleaded. "We need you! Your family needs you!"

"For the last time, the answer is no. As the king of Aquatica, it is my duty to keep my subjects safe. If I engage them in some war against our enemies, how am I keeping them safe?" Dylan declared, his tone firm, his face expression hard as he looked at his cousin.

"If you don't help us, we will lose. And if we lose, the sirens will come for Aquatica. How are you going to keep them safe when that happens?" Dylan remained silent. "Exactly. But, if you help us, in a way you are protecting the merfolk. You're protecting them from being harmed later on. And you're protecting Aquatica. And most importantly, your family."

"Which includes a pathetic sea urchin siren!"

"Don't you dare insult him!" Aerwyna yelled, slapping him. Dylan's eyes were wide, but the mergirl seemed unfazed. "The Great Oracle of the Sea and the Moon Goddess picked Alon to be Harmony's mate. And, they gave him an offer so he could help Harmony better. He took them up on it because he wanted to-"

"Destroy life as we know it with the rest of those sea urchins."

Again, Aerwyna slapped him. "Insult him again, I will hit you with my tail." she threatened. Dylan's eyes were wide as he stared at her. "He took it because he loved Harmony and he has grown to love merfolk and were-creatures. Alon is not a full siren anymore. He is half siren half merman." This caught the merking off guard.

 "That is impossible!" he exclaimed.

"Apparently it's not. The oracle and Moon Goddess put their magic together and made him half siren half merman."

"But why? Why would they curse Harmony with a siren mate or even give a siren a chance??"

Aerwyna frowned angrily. "They did not curse Harmony. They blessed her. She was chosen before she was born to bring peace between sirens and merfolk. She loves Alon and he loves her. I don't know why Harmony was chosen. But, I guess her siren mate was her perfect match. Just like every mate is. And as for peace between us and sirens, I guess deep down, we aren't as different from sirens as we make it out to be. You know the legend as well as I do. Sirens came to be, because we were stupid enough to judge by appearance. Sirens have feeling, tails, they live in water, and they have powers just like merfolk. Maybe their powers are a little different and perhaps stronger than ours, but that doesn't matter. Deep down, we aren't that different."

"Hanging out with that sea urchin siren boy has made you crazy, Aerwyna. Of course we are different. All sirens are evil. Merfolk are not." Dylan declared, earning a tail slap from Aerwyna.

"I told you if you insulted him again, I'd hit you with my tail." Dylan groaned in pain and rubbed his cheek as he looked at her. "I have not gone crazy. All sirens are not evil. Perhaps some are, yes, but just like merfolk, some are good some are bad. Merfolk have bad people and good people among them too."

"Enough! I will not listen to anymore of this nonsense! Leave! Before you put Aquatica in danger of sirens." Dylan exclaimed in anger, rising from his throne.

"You're already in danger, cousin." Aerwyna said angrily. "Fine. I just hope you never need our help. Because if you do, we won't help you. I hope I've given you something to think about at least.." With that, Aerwyna left. Dylan sat back down and put his head in his hands.

The Great Oracle looked over at the Moon Goddess. "Go." the Moon Goddess said. The oracle nodded and closed her eyes, soon disappearing from sight.

 "Dylan," a voice spoke.

Dylan looked up and gasped, his eyes wide. "G-Great Oracle!" he jumped up and bowed. "What are you doing here??"

"What are you doing here, Dylan?"

Dylan stared at her like she had gone nuts. "What do you mean? I'm the sea king. I'm where I'm supposed to be."

The oracle shook her head. "No, you aren't. Do you know what family is, Dylan?"

Dylan stared at the oracle and nodded slowly. "Yes...? A family is a group of people related to each other."

"Yes, but there's more to it than that. A family loves each other and is loyal to one another. And they don't have to be related to be family. Do you know what loyalty is?" Dylan nodded again. "See, I don't think you do. Because your family is out there fighting against sirens and you are here protecting yourself. Loyalty is when you show firm and constant support and allegiance to someone. It means you're always there when you need them. You fight for them and protect them, no matter the danger. And you love them no matter what."

Dylan slowly sat down in his throne, the oracle's words hitting him like an anchor.

"I know you're afraid. But being brave doesn't mean you are never afraid. It means doing something even though you are afraid."

"I have a kingdom to protect! I can't just go out and put my kingdom at risk by fighting a bunch of sirens!"

"Your kingdom is already at risk. If you don't go, then they will fall. And when they fall, the sirens will come after you and your kingdom."

"Then we'll evacuate! Who wants to make peace with a bunch of evil sea urchins anyway."

"Why can't you see that sirens and merfolk are the same?? Aerwyna was right, Dylan. You are so blind you can't see what is right in front of you!" the oracle shook her head and sighed. "I must go now. I can only hope you think about my words." With that, the oracle closed her eyes and disappeared.

"He did not listen?" the Moon Goddess asked, looking at the Great Oracle.

"No...We can only hope now." the oracle answered.
