Chapter 41

 Dawn's POV:

 It's been a few days since the wedding. Today is actually the day when Kamilia and John find out the gender of the baby. Earwyn and I are going to go with them to the hospital. Not just to find out the gender of Kamilia's baby, but confirm our suspicions. We think I could be pregnant. I've been throwing up a lot it seems. Sometimes, the smell of food just makes me sick to my stomach. I have a lot of symptoms. We've both noticed it and agreed on getting a professional opinion.

 We had just arrived at the hospital. Kamilia and John were taken right in. I know John was hoping he doesn't pass out. Part of me doesn't really think he will. A doctor came up and asked if she could help us with something. 

 "Yes, ma'am. We want to see if Dawn if with child." Earwyn responded. 

 "Alright, Alpha. Please come with me." she nodded and led us into a room. 

 Kamilia's POV:

 John held my hand tight as I lay down on the bed. The doctor had gone to get some gel. 

 "It'll be fine, John. Don't worry."

 "You aren't the one who passes almost every day....I'm sorry if I embarrass you....It's embarrassing passing out in front of everyone! If I did it in front of the doctor..." he trailed off, looking down at the floor. 

 "You never embarrass me, John. I love you for who you are. I'm sorry you have this condition. But don't let it affect who you are as a person. I know our child will love you too. And you make a great Beta. I heard Earwyn say that himself." I smiled at him, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. 

 "Thanks, Kamilia..." he gave me a small smile. It's hard sometimes, with his condition. But we get through it. Take it day by day. 

 At that moment, the doctor walked in with a bottle in her hands. "Alright, here we are, Miss Kamilia. Are you both ready?" he asked. We both nodded. 

 I lifted my shirt up and felt as the doctor applied the cold gel. He ran a metal piece over my stomach. The three of us watched the screen, John and I excited. I continued to hold my mate's hand tightly. He was sitting in a chair beside me. Finally, our baby came into view. I could feel tears forming in my eyes as I watched the screen. 

 "Wow..." John spoke quietly. 

 "Your baby is doing well. Would you like to know the gender?" 

 "Yes, sir," I nodded with a smile. 

 "Congratulations, Beta, Miss Kamilia, you're having a boy!" My eyes went wide and I looked over at John. So far, he was ok. His eyes were wide. He looked over at me, a smile forming on his face. I smiled back. We looked back at the doctor, still smiling. 

 "Thank you, doctor." John replied. "Of course, Beta. Would you like me to print these so you can take it home?" I looked up at John, who nodded. 

 "Yes, please. That would be great, thank you." I answered. 

 "Very well, then. I'll get those for you."

 *A couple hours later*

 Earwyn's POV:

 I couldn't believe it. I sat there in the waiting room, waiting for Kamilia and John. Dawn sat beside me, her hand on her stomach, a smile on her face. The doctor informed us Dawn was pregnant. Ok, I suspected it, but it was still a shock. 

 "So...what are you hoping it'll be?" Dawn's voice brought me out of my thoughts. 

 I looked over at her and smiled, putting my arm around her. "I don't care. As long as it's healthy." 

 "What do you species think it'll be...?" I had never thought about that. 

 "I don't know...But, I know our baby will be strong and beautiful just like her mom." 

 "Earwyn, how do you know it'll be a girl? It could be a boy!" 

 "True. But I think it might be a little girl." Dawn rolled her eyes. 

 "You're impossible." she laughed. I laughed. 

 At that moment, Kamilia came walking in, arm linked with John. John looked almost pale, but he was smiling. The excitement was probably getting to him. 

 "So? What's the gender??" Dawn asked quickly. 

 "We're having a boy!" Kamilia squealed. Dawn squealed in excitement, hugging her. "So, what did the doctor say about you?" I stood up and stood next to Dawn. 

 "We're pregnant," I answered with a smile. 

 "Oh! Congratulations!" Kamilia exclaimed, hugging us both. 

 "Congrats, bro." John replied. 

 "Thanks, John." I smiled. 

 We walked out of the hospital and got into the car. I drove. Kamilia and John sat in the back. Dawn sat beside me. When we got back, Kamilia helped John to their room. Dawn and I walked to the kitchen. We were glad to see mom, dad, Aerwyna, and Darnell there. 

 "Hey, son! What did the doctor say?" dad asked. 

 "Well, I think Dawn should tell you." I smiled, turning to my lovely wife. Dawn smiled. 

 "We're having a baby!" 

 "Oh, congratulations!" my sister exclaimed, jumping up and down before hugging us tight. And I mean tight. 

 "Sis, I can't breathe. I think you should release us so Dawn can breathe." I managed to say. 

 "Oh! Sorry! Just real excited.." she said with an innocent smile, letting go of us.

 "It's fine." Dawn smiled. 

 "Congrats, Earwyn, Dawn," Darnell smiled at us. 

 "Congratulations, you two." mom and dad smiled at us. We smiled and hugged them. I couldn't wait to tell Harmony and Alon.
