Third Person POV:

Yes. Marina and Aerwyna were going to use the call of the merfolk. No one uses it very often at all. Only as a last resort when it's the only way. And even then they don't use it. The call of the merfolk was an unpredictable, and sometimes dangerous call. It was loud. The sound waves bounced from object to object, sea creature to sea creature. Sometimes, the call would attract the attention of a hungry shark and that would be the end of the merperson. Sometimes, the call was so loud, it would burst the eardrums. Only merfolk and other creatures in the sea could hear the call. When heard, the receivers would know something was dreadfully wrong and rush to the rescue. There was a way to limit the call to whoever you wanted if you didn't want a whole bunch of people hearing it. But that took skill. Something of which was rare. Because the call wasn't used very much, no one knew how to master it. And that is why the call could be dangerous. That was why it could hurt or kill. The call of the merfolk was an ancient call. It was mysterious and wonderful. But now, it was not seen that way. It was seen as dangerous and unpredictable. Who knows what will happen to Marina and Aerwyna..?

Marina and Aerwyna swam straight down and faced Aquatica.

"Are you ready, sea star?" Marina asked.

 "Yes, mom." Aerwyna said.

The two took a deep breath and began the call of the merfolk. The sound waves moved through the water rapidly. They almost knocked the mother and daughter off balance, but they continued. It seemed like a long time.

Now, you might be wondering if they would lose their voices doing this. After all, Alon lost his voice from singing. The answer is no. Indeed merfolk can lose their voice. But the call the of merfolk is magical and special. It's used in emergencies. The call of the merfolk will not make any merfolk lose their voice, no matter how long they call out.

The two continued until they heard the call themselves. It was Pacific and Athena! They had heard the call and were telling them that they were on their way. Finally, after several minutes, Pacific and Athena came swimming up with their cousin, Dylan.

"Marina? Aerwyna? What is it?? What's wrong??" Athena asked when she, her husband, and cousin had reached the two.

"We'll explain everything on the way. Come on!" Marina declared. While the four swam, Aerwyna and Marina explained everything.

"Wait, wait, wait. Hang on." Pacific said firmly, stopping, Athena next to him. "Your saying that Harmony's mate is a siren?? And you want me to examine him!? Are you nuts?! Do you have algae in your brain?!"

"Pacific, calm down. Let's just let them explain."

"What I need explained is why Harmony didn't just reject that pile of sea snot in the beginning!"

 "Pacific!" Athena scolded.

"Uncle Pacific, Alon is much different than you think. And he and Harmony love each other a lot. I can see it in their eyes." Aerwyna told him.

"Well, we'll see about that." Dylan remarked in a serious tone. "Let's go. If this is fake, I'm don't want her anywhere near that pile of sea snot any longer than she has to be. Personally, I think it's a trap."

"Dylan, please don't refer to my daughter's mate as a pile of sea snot." Marina said firmly, swimming after her cousin. Her cousin, Dylan, was king of Aquatica and had the power to tell when lies were being told. If anyone could figure out if Alon was honest, it was him.

Michael's POV:

Marina, Aerwyna, Pacific, Athena and Dylan had just come to shore. Dylan had all of us back away from Alon. He didn't even allow Pacific to examine him. Harmony stayed by Alon's side, however, much to Dylan's dismay.

"Harmony, go stand beside your mother. Let me deal with this pile of sea snot."

"Dylan...That was a very bad idea..." Marina said. I held her close as I watched Harmony's eyes flash as she stood up to face him.

"How d-d-dare y-you! Alon is n-no p-pile of sea s-s-snot!" Harmony yelled. Her pearl pin began to glow brightly. The water began to sparkle. Alon grabbed her hand and pulled her down. He gave her a small smile. Harmony calmed down a bit and everything stopped glowing.

 "What just happened?.." Delia asked.

"I don't know...Those pearls just started glowing when she got mad." Athena stated.

 "T-these a-a-are the r-r-rarest pearls i-i-in the o-ocean.." Harmony said quietly.

"The rarest pearls in the ocean? Where did you get them? They are only found in siren territory." Dylan asked her.

"A-Alon g-g-g-gave t-th-them t-to me." Dylan's eyes were wide at her answer. "I'll let you examine him now, Pacific." he mumbled. He walked away from the two and Athena and Pacific walked forward.

"Hi, Alon. I'm Pacific and this is my wife, Athena. We're just going to examine you and see if your alright."

"Is that ok?" Athena asked gently. Alon looked nervous and unsure, but nodded. I mean, I don't blame him for being nervous. They're merpeople and he's a siren. He might be afraid they'll do something to him.

"Can you open up for me, Alon?" Pacific asked. Alon opened up his mouth and Pacific looked inside. "Hmm...Your throat is all red...What in the seven seas were you doing to make it end up like this??" Harmony sighed and explained everything that had happened. "I see..." Pacific stated, still examining Alon's throat. "I'm afraid this is serious. But, maybe with a lot of rest and quiet, which means he cannot try to talk, he might get his voice back." We nodded.

"He can use my room. Maybe the bathroom since he needs water?" Earwyn replied.

"T-th-thanks, b-big b-brother." Harmony smiled. Harmony and Aerwyna helped Alon up and we all walked to the pack house. Alon seemed tired. I couldn't blame him, after all he went through today. I was still a little hesitant about trusting him, but for my daughter, I'll give him a chance.
