Marina's POV:
"Aerwyna! Your going to be late for school on your first day! Get up!" I exclaimed.
"No! I don't care if I'm late! I'm not going!" she retorted.
I rolled my eyes. "If you don't get up, then you won't be getting any breakfast and you'll still have to get up." She didn't move. "Do you really want me to get your father? You know very well what he would do." I replied calmly. My daughter peeked out from under the blanket.
"He'd drag you out of bed and make you go to school in your pajamas. That's if your lucky. If not, he would first dump a bucket of water over your head and you'd go to school soaked. Now, I'll be waiting with Earwyn and Harmony downstairs. Don't be too long or your food will get cold."
"Yes, mommy..." she mumbled. I walked back down the stairs and into the dining room.
"Aerwyna don't wanna get up?" Earwyn smirked.
"Doesn't. And don't start judging your sister. You did the same thing when you were younger." I told him.
"Yes mom..Sorry.."
"It's fine. Now, eat your breakfast."
"Yes, mom.." my son took a bite of his waffle.
I smiled at him. My children are my little sea stars. I love them so much.
"Good morning, water lily. Morning, Earwyn, Harmony." Michael walked in the room and wrapped his arms around me. I blushed. It's been years and he can still make me blush like when we first met.
"Morning, dad," Earwyn said.
"G-good m-morning, papa." Harmony smiled.
"Morning daddy," Aerwyna yawned, as she came down the stairs.
"Good morning, Aerwyna." Michael replied, sitting down. "So, are you three ready for school?" Aerwyna shook her head and Earwyn nodded.
"Y-yes, p-papa..." Harmony mumbled.
I got the feeling she was upset about something. "Harmony, are you alright, sea star?" I asked her.
She nodded. "I-I'm alright, m-m-mama," she replied and went back to her food.
I looked over at Michael. I knew he could tell something was wrong too.
"We can talk to her before I head out to meet Derrick and Ambrose." Michael told me through mind-link.
"Alright, geode." I responded.
We waited till the kids were finished eating.
"Well, we'd better get going, mom. We'll see you after school!" Earwyn gave me a kiss on the cheek goodbye. "C'mon, lil sis!"
"Do I have to go?" Aerwyna looked at Michael pleadingly.
"Yes, sweetie, you have to go. Now, come give your mom and I a hug before you go." Michael smiled at her. She nodded and gave us a hug before following her brother out the door.
"Bye Harmony!" Earwyn called out.
"Bye, sissie!"
"B-bye b-big bwover! B-bye A-Aewyna!" Harmony called to them.
When we were alone, I looked over at Michael then at Harmony.
"Harmony, honey, are you sure everything is alright? You seem a little...down." Michael asked her. Harmony shrugged. "Harmony, you do know you can talk to us when something is troubling you, right?" She nodded.
"Sweetie, we can tell when something is bothering you...We can't help you if we don't know what's bothering you." I told her.
She hesitated, but finally responded. "I-I g-guess I j-j-just w-wanted t-t-t-to g-go to s-school s-so," she was struggling with her words.
I walked over to her and hugged her. "Slowly, sea star..Don't rush. Take your time. It might be easier if you take your time, sea star," I smiled at her.
She nodded and continued slowly. "I w-wanted t-to g-go to school s-s-so y-you'd b-be p-pwoud of m-me l-like you a-a-are of E-Eowyn..I-I w-w-wanted t-to t-twy and m-m-make s-some f-fwiends.."
I looked over at Michael then back at her. Michael walked over to us and we hugged our daughter tightly.
"Harmony, baby, I'm sorry...I want you to know, honey, we are already proud of you. Though going to school might make it easier to hang out with other kids and make friends, I don't think you need to go just to make friends. You'd be able to make friends without school. That's just the kind of girl you are...Your mom and I are just worried about you. Your special, so people bully you and make fun of you." Michael said softly.
"Your daddy's right, baby girl...I know how excited you were about starting school, but don't worry about making us proud or trying to make friends. We are already so proud of you and I know there are plenty of people out there who would love to be your friend." I kissed the top of her head.
"Weally, m-mama? P-papa?" she looked up at us. We nodded. She hugged us tight. "I w-wove y-y-you, m-mama, p-papa.." she whispered.
"We love you to, baby girl.." Michael said quietly.
Harmony's POV:
I guess home school is pretty cool. I just wish I could find somebody that did want to be my friend. And not just because they feel sorry for me or because my parents are the Luna and Alpha. One of my mermaid abilities, is being able to tell when somebody is lying, so when somebody wants to be my friend, I kinda can know when it's for real, or just because they feel sorry for me or because my parents are the leaders of the pack. Or because I'm a mermaid. But, I don't get many people like any of those things. Just a bunch of bullies.
