The Mermaid's Unexpected Mate

Chapter 5

*10 years later*

Harmony's POV:

I sat on the beach thinking about something that had happened years ago. About a boy I saved from some rocks. I often thought about him. I don't know why. Sometimes, I can't help but smile when I think about him. I often wonder what ever happened to him. Sometimes, I think I see him on the beach, but it keeps on just being my imagination. 

 Kamilia, Delia, Jack, Aerwyna, Earwyn, and I were having a vacation at the same beach mama shifted at with our parents. I was just sitting on some rocks on the beach when I suddenly felt an intense pain throughout my body. 

 "H-HELP!!" I shouted. I was doubled over on the sand. 

 "Sis!? What's wrong?!" Earwyn exclaimed as he, my sister, the twins, and Kamilia came running over. 

 "I-I d-don't know! I-it hurts!" I screamed out in pain. Soon, however, the pain was gone. I opened my eyes and looked up from the ground at my friends and siblings. They were staring at me confused. 

 "I'm gonna go get mom and dad.." Earwyn said. "Baby sis, stay here.."

 I nodded and waited till he returned with mom, dad, Uncle Ambrose, Uncle Derrick, Aunt Louise, and Aunt Leah. They all stared at me. 

 "She's a wolf!" Aunt Louise exclaimed. Wait what? What did she say? 

 "You heard them." a voice said. I jumped. "It's ok! Calm down! I'm your wolf, Sierra." the voice said.

 "B-b-but I-I'm a mermaid..." I decided to try to talk to this wolf of mine. 

 "I know, but I suppose you are part wolf part mermaid. I can't explain it, but I do know that you are very special." 

 "I kn-know. I-I've b-been told that all m-m-my l-life." I mumbled. 

 "You are more than just your disabilities. You are special but not just because your different. Trust me, Harmony." 

 "Honey, can you try and shift back?" my dad asked. I nodded. Sierra told me how to shift back and I did. The moment I did, my mom, dad, and siblings were all over me. Even the Beta, Gamma, their kids, and their mates. 

 "I-I d-don't know w-what h-h-h-happened..I-it j-just started s-s-suddenly." I told them. 

 "But how? It's impossible...No one has ever been two creatures in one before." my dad said. 

 "Well, my geode, no one had ever been mated with a mermaid before but look at us now." 

 "True, water lily, true...I suppose, this is a sign of....what she is and what she's destined to do.." 

 "Dad, what do you mean? What is Harmony destined to do?" Aerwyna asked. Mom looked over at dad who nodded at her. 

 "Marina? Michael? What's going on..?" Uncle Ambrose asked. 

 "You all may want to sit down...We have something important to tell you all...." mom said. We sat down on the sand as mom sat beside dad. "Years ago, the night I told your father I was pregnant with you and your sister, I had a dream..."

Marina's Dream:

 I stood in a silvery field. It was dark and the sky was clear. The stars and moon were bright. 

 I walked forward until I came upon a beautiful stream. I looked down and was shocked. I was frightened. I didn't see my reflection in the stream, I saw a young girl with a mark on her cheek. It was hard to make out some of the things I saw, but I could tell something bad was going to happen to her. 

 "Hello, Marina.." a voice said from behind me. I spun around quickly to see a woman in a silvery white dress. 

 "Who are you?" I asked, a little scared. I wish Michael was with me.. 

"I am the moon goddess, Marina." 

"Where am I?" 

"You are in a place where I come to meet with wolves and occasionally, other creatures." she told me. 

 I stared at her. I'm talking with the moon goddess herself. In a place she actually comes to talk with her creatures. "W-why am I here, ma'am?" I asked nervously. 

"Well, my dear, I want to tell you, one of your children will be born different than her sister. She will have a special mark on her cheek, symbolizing her destiny." I nodded as she continued. I wished I never heard what I heard next.. "However, Marina, I am afraid that she will encounter danger." 

 "W-what..? What do you mean? what danger?" I looked at her, fear written on my face I'm sure. 

 "I am afraid I do not know for certain. I'm sorry..."
