Harmony's POV:
When my family and I went back up on the land, I was pulled into a tight hug.
"Never scare us like that again, Harmony Gracelynn!" my dad exclaimed.
"I thought you were gonna die.." Aerwyna said.
"You could've been killed!" my mom agreed.
"G-guys, I c-c-can't breathe.." I told them. I took a deep breathe as soon as they released me. They smiled at me.
"You may have scared us half to death, sea star, but you have made us so proud.." my mom had tears in her eyes.
"You made me proud too, Harmony." I turned around to face Alon after hearing his voice. "I always knew you had it in you to fulfill your destiny. I always knew you were stronger than you thought you were. And now, you just proved both to everyone." he smiled and pulled me closer to him. "I love you, Harmony."
"I-I l-love you t-too, A-Alon.."
As he hugged me, I heard him whisper in my ear. "Mark me."
My eyes were wide. "W-what?"
"Mark me, Harmony. I'm ready." I nodded before drawing in a shaky breath.
"What's going on?" Darnell asked.
Alon tilted his head to give me more room. Part of me wondered how he knew about the marking process, but right now, my mind was only on the fact I was marking my mate. You know, I always imagined my mate marking me. Not the other way around. Course with him being a siren-or part siren I guess, he can't really mark me, can he? Well, maybe in some other way, but not this way. Anyways, I bent down and bared my canines. I was honestly nervous.
"It's ok, Harmony..." Alon whispered, running his hand up and down my back.
"I think I get it now. She's marking him." Aerwyna stated.
"She's what?!" my dad exclaimed.
I'm gonna have a lot of explaining to do....I felt along his neck for the sweet spot. When I heard him groan softly, I knew I had the right place. I bit down. He yelped and jumped.
"E-easy! It's a-a-alright! I-it's over n-n-now.." I said softly.
He was panting. He honestly looked really tired. Maybe that's a side affect of marking a siren-half siren. I'm not gonna get used to that. I led him back to the pack house and into his room. As soon as his head hit the pillow he was sound asleep.
"I l-love you...S-s-sleep w-well.." I kissed him on the forehead and I could detect a small smile resting on his lips. I smiled before walking away. When I got into the hallway, I saw my parents, hands on their hips, eyebrows raised. Oh boy.
Earwyn's POV:
I couldn't believe my sister marked her mate. Ok, I always thought I would be the one to find my mate first. Well, ok, maybe Aerwyna because she's the one who talks the most to people and stuff. I never thought Harmony would find her mate first. Before she was sixteen at that. And that he'd be a siren! Ok, now I'm just stating the obvious....Anyways, I always figured I'd mark Dawn before my sisters got marked. Or well, in this case, marked.
Alon looked dead tired after being marked. Side affect I guess. I wonder if Dawn would get any side affects....I hope not.
"Hey, brother, let's head inside." Aerwyna's voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Ok, I'm coming."
As Dawn and I followed my little sister and Darnell, Dawn asked me what I was thinking about. Without thinking, I blurted out, "Marking you." My eyes went wide and I stopped dead in my tracks, realizing what I just said. Oh shark bite. I looked over at her to see her cheeks pink, her eyes wide. She too had stopped. "Dawn, I-I'm-"
"Mark me then."
"What?" I asked, not sure I heard her right.
"Mark me, Earwyn. I'm ready for the world to know I'm yours." Her cheeks were redder than they were. If my cheeks weren't pink before, they definitely were now. I nodded nervously. Is it normal to be nervous? I mean, Harmony was nervous, but that was Harmony. What about others?
She tilted her head to give me space. I bent down and went over her neck to find the sweet spot. She groaned softly. Oh boy...Here we go...Please don't be a side affect....I bit down on her and felt her jump. She gave a low scream. Her eyes shifted from red to their normal color. I held her tightly in my arms, trying to calm her. I've never seen her vampire side and really, I don't want to. Finally, she relaxed in my embrace.
"Let's go, Dawn," I smiled at her.
She nodded. "Guess we'd better think about what we're gonna say to your family." she laughed.
"Oh, my...You're right. Well...I honestly have a feeling mom and dad will accept this better than with Harmony. They've always been protective of her and I think their protective side just came out again."
"Makes sense. But I think they'll accept it eventually." Dawn replied as we walked hand-in-hand.
"Yea, I do too. Eventually."
