Harmony's POV:

"Harmony Gracelyn, what did you just do?!" my mom demanded.

 "Shark bite.." I mumbled.

"Young lady, do you realize what you did??" my dad asked me.

 I sighed softly before finally answering. "Y-yes. I m-m-marked my m-mate. S-sh-showing he's m-mine. I know I-I should h-h-h-have w-w-waited t-till I knew m-m-more about s-s-sirens s-so I'd know Whether i-i-i-it'd h-hurt him or n-not, b-b-but it was t-t-time....W-w-we w-were r-r-ready. Y-you d-d-do u-understand....D-don't you...?" My parents looked at each other and nodded with a sigh before turning back to look at me.

"We do understand, Harmony. We're sorry. You're growing up...And I guess it's hard to accept that..." my dad spoke quietly.

"He's right. And it's alright, sea star. We'll have to play it by ear with Alon for a while and hope everything's alright. We are so proud of you, my little sea star," My mom gave me a small smile.

"We love you, Harmony..." Dad and mom embraced me in a hug and I smiled.

"I-I love y-y-you t-too.." After we let go of the embrace, mom and dad went downstairs and I went back into Alon's room. I wanted to be nearby when he woke up. He looked peaceful as he slept. I settled into a chair by his bed.

 Marina's POV:

Alright, we really weren't ready for Harmony to mark and really bond with Alon. But, I guess that's because we weren't ready for our baby girl to grow up.

Michael and I walked down the stairs and towards the kitchen. When we got into the doorway, we stopped short. Earwyn, Dawn, Darnell, and Aerwyna were there already. I'm pretty sure Michael and I were staring at the same thing. The mark on Dawn's neck.

"Hey, mom! dad! Do you want us to get you something? Darnell and I are making lunch." Aerwyna asked us. We didn't respond.

"Luna? Alpha? Are you alright?" Darnell asked.

Earwyn chuckled nervously. "I think I know what has their attention...." he walked over to Dawn and put his arm around her.

Michael had recovered his voice and was the first to speak. "You marked her??"

"Yes, dad. And...I hope you aren't mad..." It was my turn to speak this time. I walked up to my son with a smile and cupped his face in my hands.

"Oh, Earwyn, we aren't mad. We were just shocked. We didn't expect this. Though maybe we should start expecting the unexpected in this family." we all chuckled.

"Your mom's right, son. We aren't mad, but we are proud. We're proud of you."

"Thanks, mom...Thanks, dad..." Earwyn smiled at us.

"Come here, you two." Michael said with his charming smile. Dawn, Earwyn, Michael and I embraced each other.

"I love you guys.." my little boy said quietly.

"We love you to, buddy.." Michael told him.

 Aerwyna's POV:

I'm not jealous. I'm not jealous. Ok, I'm jealous. My big brother and little sister have already marked their mates while I haven't been marked!

Yes, I've completely forgiven Darnell. He's become like one of the family, just like Dawn and eventually, Alon. Darnell is one of those popular, rich boys, so, girls always flock to him like a magnet. He doesn't pay them any attention, but it makes me mad just the same. I am so ready to put my mark on him and let those girls know he is mine not theirs. I am so ready for boys to see I belong to Darnell not them.

I'm not as popular as Darnell, but I am popular. I think mainly because I'm the daughter of the Alpha, and a mermaid. And apparently, people think I'm pretty, so guess what? Boys like to flock to me and try to get me to go out with them. Like, have you seen me with Darnell or are you just blind? Why do you think I'm hanging out with him? Because he's helping with my homework? Or I'm helping him? True, his grade are not the best in school and mine are pretty average. But it's known around the whole school Darnell has tutoring with Mrs. Browning, a retired school teacher.

Anyways, yea, I'm annoyed. But, whatever. I'm happy for my brother, sister, and their mates.

 Darnell's POV:

I want to mark Aerwyna. I've wanted to do it for a while! Just...could never get up the courage to ask her. What I did weighs heavily on my mind like a 100 pound weight. I love her so much. But I want to make sure I'm worthy of being her mate first. Though I don't think I ever will be.
