After Jennie left the ward, she immediately dashed out of the hospital entrance and got into Xiao Jingyao's car.
The moment she sat in the car, Jennie could not help but heave a sigh of relief. Immediately after, she felt that she had overreacted.
Lisa had been injured because of her. What was wrong to feel guilty about this? Why did she have to panic and run out of it?
Ahem. That was not right. She certainly did not just lie her way out of those situations just now. She clearly felt the strange atmosphere in the ward. Besides, she had a long day today. It was only natural to feel awful and quickly leave the place where she was bound to get into more trouble. Yes. That was what she had been thinking.
While Jennie was busy with self-constructing her psychological self, Xiao Jingyao was sitting at the passenger seat, and he looked strange when he saw her behaving that way. He could not help but ask, "General Manager, did something happen inside just now?"
"No... Nothing!" Jennie's overreaction had instead reflected her actual guilt. By the time she recovered her senses, she looked at Xiao Jingyao, he had uncharacteristically widened his eyes, and he looked at her in puzzlement.
Jennie grumbled to herself. She was so embarrassed that she wanted to cover her face, dug a hole and buried herself.
Luckily, Xiao Jingyao was not as gossipy as Xia Zhetao. He did not continue to ask anything further. Instead, he changed topics, "The president just called me. They already know about the accident that happened to you this morning. The lady and the former master of the house are so worried about you. The president asked when are you returning home."
Upon hearing this, Jennie frowned. She never thought Min-a and her family members received word this fast. She heaved a sigh, and she said, "We'll go back right now. My mother won't be at ease so long she doesn't see me in person."
"Okay," Xiao Jingyao nodded. Then, he turned on the car engine.
What Jennie had predicted was right. Min-a and the other family members would certainly not be at ease if she did not come before them.
Min-a only got to know about the incident of Jennie being hunted while she was on her way to work in the afternoon.
Xiao Jingyao had abruptly transferred a group of people out. It was impossible to hide this matter from Woobin. Woobin asked him about casually, and instantly learned the entire story.
The moment Min-a found out about this, she nearly dropped the glass in her hand. She did not let go of the person who delivered the message, and she asked him about Jennie's whereabouts. She had almost wanted to rush over to the scene right away.
Unfortunately, that person only knew about the situation in general. He did not know the exact location of Jennie and the rest.
Woobin was scared out of his wits. So, he called Xiao Jingyao. Xiao Jingyao had long known that he could not hide this matter from them. He comforted the two.
He told them Jennie had not suffered any injuries. She had had a medical checkup in the hospital, and she was rushing home. The two could wait for her at home.
Only then did Woobin and Min-a go home. By the time they reached home, and Jennie had not returned yet, Min-a felt restless again.
The sudden early comeback of the two had inevitably alarmed the former master who was resting at home. He casually asked them about it.
Woobin did not hide the matter from him. He told the entire story to him. The former master was very angry after knowing that someone had dared to lay their hands on his precious granddaughter of the Kim family in broad daylights. Those people were simply not giving their respects to him.
After Woobin confirmed with the former master about Jennie's safety, the former master decisively instructed his subordinates to find those jokers who dared to fool with a powerful family like them by all means.
He had not shown up for years and therefore, those people must have thought he no longer was someone worthy to be feared, right? How could things like this be tolerated?!
After explaining everything, the former master sat in the living hall with Min-a and the others. They waited for Jennie to come home.
When they heard the sound of the car engine outside, Min-a was the one to jump out from her seat, and she dashed outside excitedly.
The moment Jennie stepped out of the car, she fell into someone's embrace, and she heard a familiar shout, "Jennie, Jennie, my poor child, why do you always run into things like this? Darn it! If I were to know who did this, I'll certainly... surely..."
Min-a was truly scared out of her wits. She had never thought her daughter would be hunted by a group of killers. Moreover, she even heard that those people were armed!
Jennie naturally felt Min-a's heart-wrenching emotions. She felt the warmth. It had been a long day. She could finally relax her tense nerves.
She hugged Min-a, and she comforted her with a hint of exhaustion, "Mother, I'm fine. Look at me, I'm still in one piece, right?"
After hugging Jennie for some time, Min-a reluctantly let go of her. She pulled Jennie to her, and she sized her up. Her expression changed when she noticed the bruises on her hands.
When Jennie saw Min-a kept staring at her bruises that had been applied with salve, she did not know if she should laugh or cry, "Mother, these are minor scratches only. They'll heal once they scab. I suffer only minor injuries compared to the others."
Min-a did not feel relieved even after Jennie comforted her. She still had the same fearful expression on her face. However, she quickly captured the keywords from Jennie's words, "The others? Who else is also injured?"
"The driver is injured and also... Lisa's mother..."
"Madam Manoban?" Min-a froze, "When did Madam Manoban return to her home country? And she was with you at that time?"
Shin-hye's return had been clandestine. To be precise, she had hid this from Lisa's father.
Apart from the members in the Manoban Family's villa, no one else had knowledge about this. It was no wonder Min-a would be that surprised.
"I also don't know when she returned to her home country. I ran into her when I sent Leo to kindergarten today."
"Bumped into her when you sent Leo to kindergarten?" Min-a frowned. She wanted to continue to ask questions but was immediately stopped by Woobin.
"Min-a, we could talk about this later. Jennie has just come back. She must be very tired."
Woobin's words reminded Min-a. When she saw Jennie's troubled expression, she cussed to herself for being so careless. She hurriedly pulled Jennie to her, and she said, "Look, how forgetful I am! Let's go in first and we could talk inside. Let's go in."
Woobin watched Min-a helping Jennie to enter through the door. Then, he turned back and looked at Xiao Jingyao, who was standing beside the car, he said in a low voice, "You, come in as well."
Xiao Jingyao knew the reason Woobin wanted him to come along was to explain the situation with Jennie. So, he did not refuse him. He nodded, and he said, "Alright."
