After a muffled bang, the door was closed tightly. Yu-min knelt on the floor and pounded on the door with all her strength. It created noises, and she hoped that the people inside would open the door.
Unfortunately, even after she pounded on the door until her hands were red and shouted until her voice became hoarse, she could not make the people in the room come out to meet her again.
Yu-min fell to the floor feebly. The marble floor under her was icy cold, but it was not as cold as the disappointment in her heart at this moment.
Her face was extremely numb. After a long time, she staggered to get up from the floor. She held onto the wall and walked out step by step.
The pounding just now seemed to have drawn out all of Yu-min's strength. After walking a few steps and bypassing a corridor, she sat on the floor again when she made sure that she would not see the door that took away her last hope.
.
The tears that Yu-min had been holding back for a long time finally spilled out at this moment. She covered her mouth and sat in the corner silently. She cried for a long time, and it lasted until her phone rang...
The sudden ringing of the phone made Yu-min's whole body stiffen. After seeing the caller on her phone's screen, she hurriedly stopped crying and simply wiped away her tears. Then, she answered the call.
"Yu-min, where are you now? Did you see Dad?" Minchul's voice came from the phone with just the right degree of anxiety and worry.
"Minchul..." When Yu-min heard her brother's voice, the tears that she tried her best to hold back were about to fall down again.
Minchul, who was on the other end of the phone, paused for a moment, as if he had discovered something. "Yu-min, your voice... Did something happen?"
Yu-min sniffed, and she reached out her hand to cover her mouth. She tried her best to sound calm and said, "N-Nothing, I didn't manage to find Dad. He may be out to do something, so he is not in the company. I want to go home first. If there's something, let's talk when Dad is back at home."
Minchul remained silent on the other end of the phone for a few seconds again. Just when Yu-min thought that she had accidentally given it away, she suddenly heard Minchul replied, "Okay, then you come back first, Yu-min. I'll wait for you at home."
Yu-min heaved a sigh of relief. "Okay."
After crying and speaking with Minchul, Yu-min's mood got better. After hanging up the phone, she climbed to her feet and walked out step by step while holding on to the wall.
She did not want to come to this place again in her whole life. As for the two people in the house, one day, she would make them pay for what they did today.
On the other side, Minchul breathed out after he hung up the phone. His face was extremely calm. The anxiousness and worry he had when he was talking on the phone with Yu-min just now could not be seen at all.
"It seems like she did not succeed when she called for help," Minchul muttered. The expression on his face remained the same, but his words had a hint of sadness and realization.
He seemed to have predicted that Yu-min would not get a good result when she went to ask Jung Tae for help.
The young man had just returned from abroad, and he had yet to get rid of all the luxurious items on his person. He sat in front of the French window alone. He could not help but think of the things he had learned from the butler not long ago. His almond eyes, which he had inherited from Song Ji-Hye, narrowed slightly, making people unable to see what he was thinking at the moment.
Right after Song Ji-Hye was taken away, Xiao Jingyao received the news. However, there was another news that was even more shocking that came along with this news.
When Xiao Jingyao rushed into Woobin's office, Jennie had just finished reporting to Woobin the report of the previous quarter, and he happened to run into Min-a in Woobin's office.
The family of three naturally sat down together to have afternoon tea.
Xiao Jingyao's sudden intrusion broke the tranquility and leisure among the group, and the attention of the three of them was instantly focused on him.
"Uncle Xiao, what's wrong? Why are you in such a hurry? Did something happen?" Jennie was still holding a teacup when she saw Xiao Jingyao rushing in so anxiously, so she frowned and asked while feeling a little worried.
Xiao Jingyao did not expect that Jennie and Min-a were present as well. He opened his mouth, but he was a little hesitant.
After hesitating for a long time, he decided to his gaze on Woobin for help.
When Woobin saw his reaction, he knew that what he was going to talk about was related to recent affairs. He glanced at the two people sitting opposite him and said, "You guys just finished eating. Do you want to go out for a walk?"
How could Min-a not understand the meaning of Woobin's words? She frowned slightly and disagreed with his suggestion. "Is there anything you guys can't say in front of us? Do you even have to do it behind our backs? Could it be that you did something shameful without us knowing it?"
"Mom..." As soon as Min-a said this, the two men did not speak, but Jennie did not know whether she should cry or smile. "Do you think Uncle Xiao and Dad are the sort of people who do things behind our backs? Since they don't want us to know about it, they must have their own reasons. Why don't we..."
Min-a did not let Jennie talk her into it. She raised her head and stared at Woobin.
Woobin looked at Min-a's eyes and was quickly defeated by her. He raised his head and beckoned Xiao Jingyao over. Then, he said, "It's okay, they would have to be exposed to this sooner or later. You can say it."
Xiao Jingyao nodded. He walked up to them and said meticulously, "Just now, there was news that the police had arrested Ms. Song Ji-Hye at the villa for hiring people to kill someone."
The short sentence stunned the two women in the office at the same time.
Jennie was shocked for a moment. A hint of realization slowly appeared in her eyes. It was really her!
Min-a was a little surprised. "The police have arrested Song Ji-Hye? Why did they arrest her? Did she hire someone to kill people? Kill who...?"
As Min-a was speaking, she suddenly stopped, as if she had thought of something. She turned her head and asked Xiao Jingyao, "Could it be...?"
Xiao Jingyao pushed the glasses on the bridge of his nose. He did not deny it.
Min-a immediately stood up from the couch. "It's her. It's actually her! How can this woman be so vicious? Jennie was bullied by her in various ways when she was still in their home. Now, she has moved out of their home and cut off ties with them. How can she be like this?"
When Jennie saw Min-a's reaction, she hurriedly got up and held Min-a's arm to soothe her. She said, "Mom, don't get angry. It is not worth being angry because of that kind of person. I'm well right now. Come, let's sit down."
After Jennie comforted her for a long time, Min-a finally sat down angrily. When she calmed down, she directed her anger at the two men on the opposite side. "You two, how could you not tell us such an important thing? If I didn't insist on staying here just now, you even wanted to hide it from us."
