"Leaving so soon? How about I send you guys off?"
"No, there's no need to do so. Jennie, it's best to stay here and take care of Lisa. We could leave on our own."
"But..."
Jennie wanted to continue. Shin-hye immediately cast a glance at Xia Zhetao who was standing at the side.
Just as Xia Zhetao was looking for an excuse to flee, he got the hint from Shin-hye's gaze. He quickly went up to Jennie and volunteered himself, "Ms. Kim, it's best for you to stay here and take care of the president. I could send them off."
"Indeed, Secretary Xia could send us off.. Jennie, there's no need to trouble you."
"Alright, then. Madam Manoban and Mr. Manoban, pray for a safe trip." Having watched enough of the good show, Jennie did not make them stay. She smiled faintly and bade farewell to Shin-hye and the rest.
Looking at Shin-hye's fading silhouette as she fled, Jennie seemed to have thought of something. She turned her head around and looked at Lisa. Her gaze turned strange.
Lisa was concentrating on dealing with the nurse who was bandaging his wound clumsily. Suddenly, he felt someone was staring at him.
He instinctively looked up and met Jennie's eyes with a hint of a smile. He was a little stunned. He asked faintly, "What's the matter?"
Jennie shook her head. She did not answer him and walked up to his bed.
The nurse was clearly a novice. While she could apply the medicine decently, she bandaged his wound in a flurry of motions. She had not finished bandaging his wound even after taking a long time.
This was especially so from the moment she came close to Lisa. He had been exuding his coldness, coupled with his look that carried a murderous intent, it no longer mattered even if he was good-looking, the nurse was already so scared of him that her entire body was trembling. She even had no idea where to place her hands.
In the end, Jennie could not bear to watch this anymore. She took the unused bandages and heaved a sigh. She said, "Let me do the rest. You may go out first."
"B-But... But..."
Before the nurse finished speaking, Lisa had already blurted out the words impatiently, "Get out."
The young lady almost wanted to burst into tears. She apologized to them and at the same time, she bowed at Jennie. She fled away from the ward like escaping from a disaster.
Jennie did not know if she should laugh or cry. Looking at the man who did not know how to treat a woman, she really wondered why so many ladies would fall for him.
"Couldn't you speak more politely? Look, you scared the young lady until she nearly cried," Jennie heaved a sigh. She held the bandage and leaned it close to Lisa's arm. She grumbled in a low voice.
"Do you wish me to be as tolerant of every young lady as I am of you?"
Jennie froze. She looked up and stared at Lisa. She raised one of her eyebrows and said, "Are you tolerant of me? Why couldn't I feel it at all?"
Lisa did not answer her. He merely fixated his gaze at her with amusement.
This was the least that Jennie could bear to watch. She avoided Lisa's eyes, lowered her head and pretended to look serious as she bandaged his wound.
Undeniably, a trace of glee sprouted from her heart upon hearing Lisa's words. After all, no woman on Earth would want her man to treat other women gently and with a smile on their face.
Possessiveness was a trait that existed in men and women alike.
Jennie had helped to handle Lisa's wound previously. She certainly was very skillful with her bandaging technique.
In just a moment, the bandage that had bothered the nurse for half of the day was neatly wrapped around Lisa's arm.
"Done!" Jennie clapped her hand. She turned around and was about to leave. Just then, she felt the grip around her wrist tightening.
At the same time, a strong force hit her. She inevitably lost her balance and her entire body fell backward onto the bed.
A banging sound was heard. Jennie was padded by human flesh. She naturally did not feel any pain. She wanted to get up in a flurry of motion, only to realize her wrist was gripped tightly and she could not move around.
"Lisa, darn you! Your hand! Do you want to be sent for emergency treatment once again?!" Jennie's expression darkened. She looked up and glared at the certain one viciously, who was lying on the bed with an injury that was clearly not as serious as it was.
"Are you worried about me?" Lisa ignored Jennie's anger that appeared in her eyes. He leaned closer to meet Jennie's eyes. His tone carried a trace of obvious Leo.
Jennie drew in a deep breath. Looking at Lisa's annoyingly handsome face, she was so angry that she let out a bark of laughter as she said, "President Manoban, don't get me wrong. What does your life and death have anything to do with me? Even if you die in this ward today, it has nothing to do with me at all. However, President Manoban, if you want to die, could you please do it after I leave the ward? Otherwise, I might end up being accused of killing the president of Manoban Group because my love for him has turned into hatred."
Lisa was stunned. He knew that this time, Jennie was truly in a fit of rage. He said innocently, "I've avoided it."
Right after he spoke, Jennie glared at him.
"Alright, I was wrong." President Manoban who was notable for his coolness, good looks and dominance had knelt before Jennie humbly under her glare and admitted his mistakes obediently.
If the entertainment media and women who adored him were to know about this, all of them would have been deeply disappointed.
Lisa's willingness to soften up caused Jennie's anger to slightly subside. However, she still scorned Lisa, "Let go of me, I want to get up!"
"Wait." This time, Lisa did not give in to her. He looked into Jennie's eyes and said in a low voice, "You have to answer the question that I've asked you."
"Question that you've asked me?" Jennie froze. "Do you mean the question about if I wish you to treat other young ladies the same way you treat me?"
Lisa did not say anything. Jennie assumed his silence was consent. She answered impatiently, "No, no, no! Is that okay? Now, let go of me, I want to get up!"
Jennie supported herself and wanted to get up from Lisa's body. However, Lisa exerted force again. Jennie was caught off guard. Once again, her head was buried into Lisa's arm and she nearly broke the bridge of her nose.
"La! Li! Sa!" Jennie rubbed the bridge of her sore nose. The way she looked at Lisa like she wanted to devour him alive.
"Not this."
"What is it?"
"Not this question. It's the question before this."
Jennie was angry, "Darn it! If I'm not answering your question, why the heck did you respond to me just now?!"
Lisa furrowed his eyebrows and said solemnly, "Don't simply use foul language at me. Also... I didn't say anything at all. It's you who says it."
Jennie replied to him, "Indeed, you didn't say anything just now. But, you didn't deny it as well!
"Darn you, rascal! You are clearly doing it on purpose. Don't go thinking that I couldn't see that hidden smile just because you are stoic-faced!
"I told you, I'm only answering one of your questions. But, it turns out I have to answer one after another, you cunning businessman!"
Lisa looked calm while Jennie was exploding. He said with a smile, "Answer my question and I'll let you go."
Jennie thought to herself, 'So, what he meant was, if I don't answer him, he wouldn't let go of me, right? Hehe... But, about the question before this... Hmm...'
