Looking at Haruto's current appearance, Jennie immediately knew what the guy had been thinking about. She did not know if she should laugh or cry, and she said, "Thank you for the concern, Officer Watanabe. I am fine."
"Oh..." Haruto smiled in embarrassment. He did not have a smooth tongue. So, at that moment, he really had no idea how to comfort her.
Although the two clearly had a simple get-together, the sight somehow looked... displeasing in the eyes of a jealous certain one who was standing at the side.
What was wrong with this man? Why did he look like he was so close with Jennie to the point that she had even tossed him aside to chat so happily with him?!
Why did he have no idea that Jennie knew this person before? Wait!
The jealous President Manoban grew angry. The creases between his eyebrows gradually smoothed out. There was a hint of doubt from the way he looked at Haruto.

If he had remembered correctly, the documents stated that Jennie had a childhood friend, an unrelated younger brother.
The two were acquainted because their mothers knew each other. Moreover, the two were about the same age. Ever since high school, the two had stuck together like honey and bees. They had a very strong bond with each other.
Childhood friends, stuck with each other like glue, and a strong bond... those words had triggered Lisa's taboo, this was especially so when the person addressed Jennie in an incredibly friendly manner in front of him. He called her Big Sister Jen!
Even though he knew Big Sister Jen was not referring to the current Jennie, he felt extremely displeased to hear it.
Sometimes, men did not retain even the slightest bit of rationality with them when they got jealous.
The jealousy-ridden President Manoban made an extremely shocking move. He went up to them, stretched out his hand, and grabbed Jennie's hand that was dangling by her side. He forcefully laced their fingers together in order to declare his sovereignty over her.
"Eh, Lisa..?" Jennie was busy dealing with Haruto to avoid giving her true identity away. She was caught by surprise the moment she was suddenly grabbed by Lisa. She turned her head around and was greeted by the sight of Lisa's cold expression.
'What's wrong with him? Why is he getting angry out of the blue? How annoying?!' Jennie furrowed her eyebrows as she thought of this.
Lisa's action had attracted not only Jennie, but also Haruto who was standing opposite her.
Haruto had only been focused on greeting Jennie. At that moment, he finally noticed there was another person standing next to her. He was a very tall and handsome man. Haruto wondered why he had been so dumb to not notice him.
"Ms. Kim, may I know who he is...?" Haruto was snapped out of his daze. He decided to make up for his mistakes by taking the initiative to ask about Lisa's identity.
"He is..." Jennie looked at Lisa, then she gave another look at Haruto. She was put in a difficult position just then.
How should she introduce Lisa? 'He is my ex-husband? If Haruto were to ask around, wouldn't he know that before Jennie returned to the Kim family, she had been staying in the Manoban family and Shalnork because of her marriage?'
If so, all her previous lies would be exposed by then, right? No... No way!
Jennie's hesitation made Lisa unhappy. Was he such a shameful presence to the point that she was not willing to introduce him to her good friend? Or, did these two have some sort of relationship that could not be made known to the public?
President Manoban was growing angrier. He cast a glance at Haruto indifferently, and said coldly, "I am her..."
"Boyfriend!" As soon as Jennie heard Lisa's words, she reflexively continued for him. The next moment, she forcefully drove herself between the two in order to separate them. She laughed dryly, "He is my boyfriend. His name is Lisa. Officer Watanabe, you could call him Mr. Manoban."
"Oh, so he's your boyfriend. Good to see you, Mr. Manoban. You are very handsome, and Ms. Kim is very pretty. You two are a good match." Haruto did not suspect him. He looked at the two. He really did not know what to say about them. So, he copied the congratulatory words said to him from the guests during his own wedding banquet.
When Lisa heard the word "boyfriend", the chill air surrounding him immediately subsided. Upon hearing Haruto saying they were a good match, the anger in his heart was gone like cold water had been poured on it.
The way Lisa looked at Haruto grew less hostile. When he greeted him, he nodded and replied to him, "Nice to meet you."
Haruto did not give much thought about Lisa's change of attitude. He only thought he was a man of few words.
"By the way, Ms. Kim, it's getting dark now. Shall we look for a place and have a meal together? We're so close yet, we haven't had a meal before." Naturally, Haruto invited Jennie for dinner together. However, he was unaware of how misleading his words were.
Lisa had taken great pains to let his guard down and now, he returned to his original wariness. This person wanted to invite Jennie for a meal? What did he mean that they were so close?
If he had remembered correctly, the current Jennie had nothing to do with him now, right? When did he become so close with Jennie? Indeed, he could not let his guard down against this man!
"No need. We still have things to do. Save it for next time." As he said this, he quickly wrapped his hands around Jennie's waist, declaring his sovereignty over her with aggressive fervor.
"I see." The friendly smile on Haruto's face stiffened. He felt a chill creeping down his spine. He clearly did not feel that a while ago!
"Indeed. We still have things to do. Our family is waiting for us to start dinner. Let's do it next time," Jennie returned to her senses, and hurriedly went along with Lisa's words.
She could not wait to drive the two apart, much less take two troublemakers along for a meal together.
What would happen if one of them made a slip of tongue during the meal and hence, triggering suspicion among them? She could not afford to bear the consequences!
While Jennie felt incredibly nervous in her heart, she tried her best to look calm on the surface. She wittily switched the topic, and said, "By the way, where is Karina? Didn't you tell us you guys have been assigned to the same group last time? Why don't I see her around with you?"
Indeed, right after Jennie talked about Karina, Haruto's attention was immediately shifted away from the two. He smiled awkwardly, " Something happened on her end, all of a sudden. She will come out in a while. I'm waiting for her here."
"So, that's how it is. Haruto, you just wait for her here. We have some urgent business, and we'll go back first. We shall continue again next time."
"Alright, pray you guys have a safe journey." Jennie looked like she was in a hurry. So, Haruto did not make her stay and bade farewell to the two without hesitation.
Jennie smiled. She immediately took Lisa with her, and they ran away.
Jennie had only wished to leave this troublesome place. She did not realize that a person inside the car that was located not far away from them had seen everything.
