The creases between Jennie's eyebrows gradually smoothed out. Even the anger on her face also subsided. She looked at Lisa with a teasing smile, "Are you sure you want me to answer... your question?"
Looking at Jennie's mocking gaze, he felt that something was wrong. Yet, he still nodded his head.
The corners of Jennie's lips gradually curled upward. She took the initiative to lean closer to Lisa. "When your parents left, I suddenly recalled something interesting."
"Something interesting?"
"That's right. Something interesting." Jennie grinned like a Cheshire cat. The ever-calm President Manoban felt a chill creeping down his spine..
"That day, my mother and I came to visit you. I suppose you still remember it, right?"
Lisa was stunned for a while before he nodded hesitantly.
"Originally, my mother was worried about me spending time with you alone. So, she insisted on tagging along with me. However, ever since then, my mother did not come to the hospital anymore. Do you know why?"
Lisa frowned. He muffled his voice, "Was it because Aunt realized I am not as terrible as she had thought after visiting me in person?"
"Not as terrible as she had thought? What makes you think that her impression about you would change after you forcibly kissed her daughter in front of her?"
Lisa fell speechless.
"The reason my mother did not come with me ever since then was because your mother has told her something." Jennie used her unrestrained hand to draw circles on Lisa's chest flirtatiously. Her eyes carried a hint of seduction and mockery.
Looking at the current Jennie, Lisa's gaze grew increasingly profound.
Unfortunately, before he had any dirty thoughts about the person pressing against him, Jennie's following words finally got his stoic face twisted.
"Your mother told my mother that the president of Manoban Group, the man whom all the women in Shalnork want to marry the most, is actually dysfunctional in a certain area." While she was speaking, she swept her glance at Lisa's lower body teasingly. She inevitably hinted to him the area in which he was dysfunctional.
Within an instant, Lisa's expression turned... black. A man would usually be angry when someone questioned his strengths, much less... when the person was someone whom he liked.
Looking at Lisa's expression that was darker than thunderclouds, Jennie was overjoyed. Yet, she continued solemnly, "Initially, I did not believe her at all. After all, how could a great man like you be... especially when we already have Leo. If you're incapable in that area, how did I conceive Leo? But, the way Madam Manoban reasoned and justified her statements was so convincing that in the end, I had to believe everything she said."
Lisa's expression was so black that it looked scary. However, upon hearing Jennie's words, he played along with her and asked, "Oh, what else has my mother said?"
His calm tone carried a hint of danger like an incoming hurricane. Unfortunately, at that time, Jennie was so focused on digging at the certain one to the point that she was completely oblivious about this.
"Your mother said you were once normal. However, you're heavily traumatized after being struck down by my unscrupulous and reckless means a few years ago. From then on..."
Right after Jennie spoke, the atmosphere inside the ward instantly turned strange.
"Oh, by the way, I even stirred you up with this incident when we divorced. I never thought I got it right by chance of luck. I'm sorry for that," Jennie apologized insincerely. She once again cast a glance at Lisa's lower body. She grinned and did not look remorseful at all. That look was truly annoying.
Jennie was fully concentrating on a certain one's lower body. She did not notice a glimpse of light was caught in the man's eyes.
After she finished speaking, Jennie seemed like she still had not had enough of it. She continued to draw circles on Lisa's body daringly and teasingly. She smirked, "I have to say, Aunt is very clever indeed. She made use of my mother's guilty conscience so that my mother sided with you. However, this alone was insufficient to make my mother let her guard down against you. What truly made my mother sympathize with you was Madam Manoban's following words."
Lisa quirked one of his eyebrows, "Oh, really? What else did my mother say?"
Jennie caressed Lisa's abs covered beneath his sheer patient gown, as if playing a prank on him. She keenly felt the man under her shudder as she did so. Jennie was in a good mood, and the corners of her lips curled upward. She said faintly, "Madam Manoban said, this is the reason for your low self-esteem. You have clearly fallen in love with me throughout the years as we spent time together. However, you dared not confess to me. You tried your best to hide your feelings for me. In the end, you even resorted to an inappropriate way just to distance yourself from Leo and me on purpose. You did this because you wanted to maintain your last bit of dignity."
When Jennie said this, she instinctively looked up and met Lisa's eyes. She snorted, "Over the past four years, as far as I am concerned, why hadn't I noticed you actually caring so much about me and Leo, huh?"
Jennie's words were filled with sarcasm. Although she was not the previous Jennie, her memories over the past four years were with her.
While she believed the current Lisa liked her, she did not believe... not even once if one told her that Lisa had already fallen for the previous Jennie in the past.
Lisa was indifferent toward Jennie's sarcastic remarks. He only focused on what Jennie had said earlier. He merely asked, "So, is this why you suddenly went on a blind date?"
Lisa had long known about Min-a's intention of asking Jennie to go on a blind date. However, he heard that Jennie had turned a cold shoulder to it. So, he did not pay much attention to this. He thought Jennie was more or less thinking of him.
To Lisa's surprise, when he thought their relationship had finally made some progress, he received the news about Jennie attending the blind date of her own will.
Lisa panicked at once. That was also why he had behaved so recklessly that day. Now, as he gave a second thought about it, perhaps, the reason Jennie went on a blind date all of a sudden was because it was related to his mother. His mother had spewed more than she should without getting his prior consent!
"Yes. Since Madam Manoban has said so, how could I not believe her? I'm not an idiot, after all. If I knew you have become like that, why should I still cling to you, President Manoban?" Jennie was in a good mood. She did not pull any punches and spoke truthfully. At the same time, she dug at Lisa once again for her own amusement.
"If so, why aren't you concerned about that now... and agreed to give me a chance?"
Upon hearing that, Jennie looked up. She was about to end this topic that was quickly derailing. However, she seemed to think of something. She glared at Lisa profoundly and sneered, "If I remembered correctly, I said, I promised to give you a chance. But, I didn't say the person has to be you."
Lisa's eyes sparkled, "What you meant was, if you are not satisfied with me in the future, you might abandon me, is that it?"
