Min-a had brought up her blind date a long time ago. However, at that time, Jennie never gave a thought about it. Whenever Min-a mentioned it, she had turned them all down by giving various excuses.
Later, she met with an accident. Min-a gradually stopped having that in her mind.
However, after Shin-hye had taken great pains to brainwash Min-a, Jennie had changed her mind. She proposed to go on a blind date.
Although Min-a was a little puzzled, Jennie insisted on it. So, she had nothing to say. She immediately looked for the best son-in-law candidate for her.
Jennie was sitting inside her car, looking at the information of her blind date.. The man was Moonbyul, the second son of the Moon family, one of the four greatest families. He was a twenty-eight-year-old bachelor.
Twenty-eight years old... He was older than Lisa, and was quite old for her!
Jennie lamented to herself. The next moment, she could not help but shudder over her own thoughts that came to her mind in a flash.
'Darn it! Why did I think of that man again?! Fine! I don't want to think about it. Let's talk about it when I see the person.'
Thinking of this, Jennie bit her lips furiously. She tossed the documents to the side, leaned against the car seat, and closed her eyes.
By the time Jennie reached her destination, her blind date was already there waiting for her.
In fact, Moonbyul did not know who his blind date was. He had been swindled into attending the blind date today.
He was twenty-eight years old this year and turning twenty-nine years old by next year. He wondered why his mother was so worried about him not getting a wife.
'Apparently, even my stoic-faced elder brother courted a beautiful and gorgeous wife, much less a young man like me who is everyone's favorite. So, it makes no sense to say that no women want to be with me!'
In truth, Moonbyul was so desperate to the point that no women wanted him since high school, college and university days. Not a single woman was willing to date him.
Each time, the women came only for his elder brother instead of him.
He wondered why the stoic-faced and rotten man was so attractive. Those women had very poor judgment to the extent that they rather curried favor with him when he was giving them a cold shoulder instead of turning to a gentle, thoughtful and understanding young man like him.
However, unbeknownst to Moonbyul, those women actually found his elder brother a wise, domineering and reliable man. On the other hand, Moonbyul looked sloppy and lived without an honest job. They experienced very little sense of security from him.
The young master of the Moon family had had many years of failed romantic relationships. He was still a virgin even today. It was no wonder his mother got so worked up and kept looking for a woman for him.
Before Moonbyul arrived at his destination, his mother had told her the woman was introduced to them by his aunt. The woman's looks and character were equally good. If he did not go to the blind date, she would ask his elder brother to summon him back to the army training for a few months.
As such, Moonbyul had to succumb to the power and forced himself to come. little did he know that after waiting for half of the day, the person was...
"Pfff...!" Moonbyul was drinking coffee when he saw Jennie coming. He was so shocked that he choked, and the liquid slipped into his trachea instead. Although he did not spill out the coffee, he nearly choked himself to death.
'H-How... Why is she here?! Oh, my god! If Seulgi were to know that his dream girl is here on a blind date, won't that wolf in sheep's clothing skin me alive?!'
"Are you Mr. Moon?" Jennie smiled gently and asked when she went up to Moonbyul.
Moonbyul was shaken by Jennie's gentle smile. He was star-struck by her smile. He thought to himself, 'She's truly a gorgeous woman. No wonder Seulgi's heart was moved. I also couldn't take my eyes off...'
Moonbyul was snapped out of his daze. What was he thinking about?! He must not take advantage of the woman whom his friend was interested in. As a civilized young man, he must have some self-restraint. If this were to spread out, the public would curse him to death!
Moonbyul contemplated a little before he looked up, and smiled dryly at her. He said, "Yes, I am. Please take a seat."
Jennie frowned. She thought this man looked strange, yet she did not know how to describe him. She returned his smile and sat opposite him.
"First, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Jennie, the eldest lady of the Kim family. I am the general manager of the Kim Group. I'm twenty-one years old, and I've been married once. I also have a four-year-old son. I suppose you already know all these, right?"
Moonbyul smiled dryly and thought to himself, 'I don't know anything about you. In fact, I did not even know that my blind date is you! If I were to know sooner, I would have rather enslaved myself in the army than going on a blind date with you!'
"Hahaha! I know, I know. Nice to meet you, Ms. Kim. I'm Moonbyul, the young master of the Moon family. I'm twenty-eight years old this year. My parents are still alive. Besides, I have an elder brother. That's about it. Hahaha!"
Moonbyul decided to remain silent right after he finished speaking. The atmosphere on the dining table turned strange.
Jennie touched the rim of the coffee cup. She sized him up discreetly.
'He looks good, just that he's a bit old. Anyway, since he has already mentioned his age, he also can't help it.
'As for other aspects, he seems to be fine. He ordered a cup of coffee for me before I've even arrived. In other words, he is a thoughtful person. He also doesn't seem to take the fact that I was married once with a son to heart. If I want to form a family with him, he doesn't look like he would mistreat Leo. However, he looks a bit... stupid. Or, should I say, he doesn't have a good impression of me, and dislikes me?
If Moonbyul were to know that his handsome face was being called old, he would have fainted. Moreover, it was not true to say that he did not like her, in fact, he did not dare to like her.
The two of them faced each other silently. The atmosphere turned awkward. In the end, Jennie faked a cough and was the first to break the silence. She said, "I think it's about time to place some orders. Mr. Moon, have you placed any orders?"
"No... Not yet. I plan to order when you arrive, Ms. Kim. Here's the menu. Just order whatever you want, you don't have to be frugal with me."
Jennie took the menu without hesitation and ordered several dishes. Then, she asked for Moonbyul's opinion and added several dishes before she called the attendant over to place their orders.
Moonbyul's eyes sparkled as Jennie placed the orders. When she was about to finish, and the attendant closed the menu and was about to leave, Moonbyul hurriedly stood up and said, "Ms. Kim, I have to go to the washroom first. I'll be back in a while. Please wait here. Ha!" Right after he spoke, he did not even wait for Jennie's reply and fled as if a monster was coming after him.
Jennie fell speechless.
