The girls were engaged in a heated discussion. They were totally unaware that a figure was about to push open the door from outside while they just started to discuss amongst themselves. However, right after the person heard the contents of their discussion, his entire body had turned stiff and stood outside the door. He neither entered nor retreated.

After he heard their following words, he quietly clenched both of his hands. For a moment, a glimpse of distortion was caught on his usually handsome face with a hint of a faint smile.

"Alright, alright. Stop talking about it. No matter how young Chief Kim is, he is still the general manager's younger brother. Besides, he is also our superior. If he were to hear your words, he would have skinned you alive."

"I-I don't think so, right? Chief Kim has always been quite talkative and easy-going too."

"Are you really that stupid or pretending to be like one? Do you know that there are many people who are nice to talk to on the surface but stabbed you behind your back? Also, what's there to talk about? Do you think that even those who are nice to talk to would still remain indifferent after learning that others are talking bad behind them?"

The girl who had spoken earlier fell silent. She looked serious and nodded her head as an indication that she would not talk so much anymore. She heaved a sigh and looked up. When she saw the person outside the glass door walking in, her face turned as white as a ghost.

When the other girls who were talking noticed her current state, they locked gazes with one another. They instinctively turned their heads around and looked in her direction. Their expressions unwittingly changed right after they were greeted by the sight of Minchul, who was pushing the door and entering through it.

"C-Chief... Kim, when did you come over? We didn't even notice your presence." The ladies were startled. They looked at Minchul warily and were afraid that he would suddenly burst out and drive them away.

At that moment, Minchul had already recovered his senses from his initial anger and annoyance. He remained wearing a heartwarming smile.

He acted like he had just come in and did not know what they had been talking about. He smiled faintly as he said, "I just came in. Why are you guys gathering here and doing about? Your complexion doesn't look too good. Are you not feeling well? It's good to work hard, but also have to take care of your health."

After the girls heard Minchul's words, they thought that he had really just come in. They heaved a sigh in unison and said awkwardly, "Chief Kim, thank you for the concern. If there's nothing else, we'll get back to our work first."

After they finished speaking, the girls bowed at Minchul and quickly left. They looked guilty and fearful, as if a monster was running after them...

Minchul's smile remained as he watched their fading silhouettes. However, a trace of hidden coldness flashed across his eyes.

However, he quickly schooled the trace of icy coldness in his eyes as soon as he heard some familiar voices rising from behind.

"General Manager, yesterday's proposal has been officially delivered to all the departments. They could execute the plan soon."

"The construction work of the resort is coming to an end. We need to publicize soon. Ask them to act faster."

"Noted. By the way, the president of Sheng Huang Group has just gone upstairs. I've asked Solar to serve him."

"You have Solar to serve him?" When Jennie heard Xiao Jingyao's words, she recalled Solar's excited look when she saw Minho yesterday. The corners of her lips twitched and she said in resignation, "Looks like we had better go there fast."

Right after she spoke, Jennie saw Minchul standing at the front not far away from her. She paused mid-stride. The corners of her lips curled upward as she walked toward him.

"Chief Kim, why did you arrive so early today?"

Apparently, Minchul did not expect Jennie would take the initiative to greet him. The smile on his face turned stiff. He smiled faintly, "There are many things to handle in the company today, so I came earlier to help out."

"Chief Kim, I never thought you're a rather hardworking person." Jennie quirked one of her eyebrows and stared at the person before her teasingly.

It was a very casual, ordinary sentence. Yet, Minchul heard a trace of mockery from Jennie's tone.

A hint of wickedness flashed across his eyes. Despite this, he still looked in a teachable manner. He lowered his head and said, "Thank you, General Manager. I just thought that a person who is slow in learning should work harder. Otherwise, I feel sinful if I drag others down."

"Chief Kim, that's very humble of you. If you are considered a slow-learning person, don't the staff in this company have to burn the midnight oil in order to achieve good performance?"

The two smiled gently while flattering each other. Those who did not know them would have thought that they had a good relationship.

Xiao Jingyao was standing behind Jennie. Upon hearing their verbal battle, he pushed back the glasses on the bridge of his nose. A glimpse of light was reflected under the shadow.

"General Manager, stop teasing me. From yesterday's incident alone, you've taught me a good lesson and I benefited a lot from it!"

Jennie smiled and said indifferently, "Chief Kim, you've just returned from overseas. You're knowledgeable, but lack experience. So, what you have done was already considered a good achievement. Failure is the mother of success. With this experience, Chief Kim, I believe you will improve further in the future."

Minchul's expression changed upon hearing Jennie's agitated remarks. However, she continued to agitate him.

"Chief Kim, you have behaved well and excelled in your studies since childhood. You're also intelligent and understanding. Therefore, you're an apple of everyone's eyes regardless of at home or school. You hardly experience many setbacks. However, society is different from home. It has its own temptations and likewise, it has its own cruelty that is unbeknownst to others. After experiencing yesterday's incident, I was worried that an excellent young man like you would be full of self-pity and unable to rise from failure. Judging from your look today, it seems like I was the one who was over-worried."

This guy had had a smooth sail in his life over the past twenty years. As a result, he became more ambitious to the extent of even having wishful thinking of taking things that had never belonged to him. He was a bad omen.

The proposal was Jennie's first confrontation with him. It had also served as a warning to him. She had warned a certain one that he should not reach out for things that had never belonged to him. However, the result turned out rather unsatisfactorily.

Minchul narrowed his eyes dangerously. His smile disappeared within a blink of an eye. In fact, a hint of danger amid dead silence appeared in his eyes.

"My dear older sister, you are so very capable from such a young age. It's only normal that I am inferior to you. Unfortunately, you are a lady. If you were a guy, I'm afraid Grandpa would have handed over his company to you at ease."

Minchul hinted that she was only a lady. Therefore, she could not become the successor of Kim Enterprise in the true sense.

A sarcastic smile arched across Jennie's lips as she looked at the young man who started to ramble after being agitated by her.

The next moment, she slowly walked to Minchul's side. She bent over and enunciated each and every word cruelly, "In the end, even if Kim Enterprise has to be inherited by a male heir, you... certainly are not going to be the one.."
