Solar cast a glance at Jennie hesitantly. Although Mr. Kim was considered more reasonable compared to others who barged in without hesitation. Solar had clearly told him that the general manager had not returned. Yet, he insisted on waiting for her in the restroom outside. He had regarded her with contempt when she served him tea. Even though he did not barge in like others, he was very much the same as the rest.

The lass' thoughts were reflected on her facial expressions so much so that it was impossible for Jennie to pretend not to notice them. She thought to herself, 'This old man definitely wants to barge in here straight away and do all sorts of things that are way out of the line because he knows that I have to show respect to him?! The only reason why he's not doing it is because he has a favor to ask of me, that's why he has to compromise and not act so smugly.'

"I suppose he can't hold it any longer now, huh?!"

"Huh? What are you saying?" Jennie was mumbling to herself. Solar could not hear clearly, and she asked her in puzzlement.

"Nothing. Is he still waiting outside?"

Solar nodded seriously. Jennie smirked sarcastically, "That's very patient of him. Let him in now."

Upon hearing this, Solar wanted to say something. But, in the end, she did not say anything. She turned around and called him.

Soon, Solar led Jung Tae in.

Jennie did not even look up when she heard the footsteps. She said in a low voice, "Solar, you may go out first. Confirm it with the human resource personnel about the things I've told you that day. If anything happens, I'll ask Uncle Xiao to come over."

Solar responded to her. Before she left the office, she turned back and gave a final worried glance at Jennie who was sitting behind her desk.

Right after Solar left, Jung Tae immediately revealed his true colors. He stared impatiently at Jennie who did not even bother to spare him a glance. He said in an unfriendly tone, "Jennie, I've personally come over to look for you, and this is how you greet your father?!"

Jung Tae had thought this was Jennie's honor that he had humbled himself to come and look for her. However, when he was told that Jennie was not coming to the office in the morning, he was very unhappy about it. He thought this was just an excuse for not wanting to meet him up. He was so angry that he decided to wait outside for her. There was no way Jennie ignored him throughout the whole day.

Indeed, Jennie did not ignore him throughout the day. She ignored him for half of the day only.

Finally, when Jennie arrived, he was brought into her office. Instead of expecting to be treated politely and offered apologies, she did not even bother to look up to him. She treated him like he was a nobody.

Jung Tae was very frustrated. He had come here with much confidence, thinking that Jennie would agree to all his requests without hesitation when all he had to do was to soften up to her.

When Jennie heard Jung Tae questioning her angrily, she paused her hand movement and looked up at Jung Tae whose face had darkened. She frowned and asked, "Who are you? Oh! Now only I remember, you're the head of the development department. Sorry for that. Mr. Kim, is there anything you came to look for me today? If no, please go back. As you can see, I am different from you. You can wander around other departments whenever you like, and no one will bother you even if you stay there doing nothing for the entire morning. I, on the other hand, cannot get off my work if I can't finish approving all the documents piled up on my desk today. I'm very busy."

Jennie's words mercilessly poked Jung Tae where it hurt the most. The role of a general manager was much busier than a head of the development department, which was a cushy job.

likewise, he had to endure the feeling of being overridden by his own daughter due to her higher authority. He naturally did not feel so pleased about it.

Jung Tae's face turned black. He pointed at Jennie and cussed, "What attitude are you showing to me?! I'm your father! You're telling me that you're busy now when you've been ignoring me for the entire morning?! Are you so busy to the point that you can't even identify who your father is?! If you're so busy, why didn't you come in this morning?! You dare to fight back just because you're old enough and have some backing, huh?! You think that I can't do anything to you just because you have the former master and my elder brother supporting you now, huh?! Let me tell you, regardless of whether you admit it, I am your biological father. I contributed to your birth and you're in my blood. This is something that my older brother and sister-in-law can never provide for you!"

The more Jung Tae said, the angrier he became. He lashed out at her, "Do you really think they are really being good to you and truly treat you as their daughter?! They do all this just because they did not have a child on their own, yet are unwilling to give up on the right and fortune of the Kim family. As such, they have to adopt you reluctantly. You're nothing but a tool for them to use, do you understand?!"

Jennie's expression changed upon hearing Jung Tae's provocative words that intended to drive a wedge between her and Woobin. She tossed the signing pen to the side and looked at Jung Tae's angry face. She sneered, "Have you had enough?!"

"What?!" Jung Tae was startled. Soon, his expression darkened and he was about to continue, "You..."

Splash!

While feeling a refreshing coolness splashed at his face, he also heard the crisp clattering sound of water dripping on the floor.

"You..." Jung Tae looked at his soaked clothes and the glass of water in Jennie's hand incredulously. His complexion kept changing.

Jennie put aside the glass and regretted that she should have asked Solar to serve a glass of hot water instead. Otherwise, the moment she flung the water at him, he could scream miserably as if he had been skinned, at the same time saving her lots of hassle later on.

Now, not only had her action failed to teach him a lesson, instead, he received a face wash for free. That was such a bad deal!

Unfortunately, that had already happened. So, Jennie did not dwell on this issue for long. She smirked when she saw Jung Tae all soaked up, "Fine, even if you haven't finished yet, I didn't bother to listen to any of that."

"Y-You... You unfilial brat! How dare you do this to me?!" Jung Tae was so angry that his entire body was shaking. He looked so messy, especially with his wet, flattened hair.

"What's wrong with doing this to you?" Jennie came out from behind the office desk and walked closer to Jung Tae, like a ferocious and bloodthirsty beast approaching its prey.

"Mr. Kim, it seems like you didn't know that Third Uncle and Third Aunt have come to cause me trouble two days ago, right?"

Jennie was clearly putting on a smile, yet Jung Tae could feel a sense of chilliness from her, and he inevitably stepped back.

"That time, Aunt was just like you, she spoke rudely to my mother. She said my mother grabbed another person's child just because she couldn't give birth on her own. Mr. Kim, do you know what happened next?" Jennie gave a sharp look and enunciated each word clearly, "I slapped her for each word that came out of her mouth until she could no longer say anything. Mr. Kim, do you want to give it a try too?"
