"Have you had enough of all this?!" Finally, Jung Tae could no longer hold back himself. He pushed Yu-min away with force and she fell to the ground. He said impatiently, "Why can't I treat you and your mother like this?! Your mother is only one of my mistresses outside. When I'm happy, I'll take her home and provide for her. When I'm not, I can simply drive all of you out of my house!"
"Father, you!" Jennie fell and sat on the ground. Her face was covered in tears. She looked up at the man, whom she felt was like a stranger to her. It seemed to her that this was her first time getting to know him after so many years.
"Don't look at me like this! I haven't held you accountable for many things because you are my daughter. Yet, you insist on banging your head to the wall. You keep challenging my boundaries. So, you can't blame me on this!" As Jung Tae was speaking, he pulled Sun Qin up who was beside him. He turned around and walked inside the room.
.
Yu-min sat on the ground in a daze. While she was still wondering what she should do next, Jung Tae dashed out from the house in a fit of rage and flung a set of documents at her.
Yu-min exclaimed in surprise. She picked up the documents in a flurry of motion. When she read the documents, her pupils shrank. Her hands shivered uncontrollably. "This... This is..."
"Can't you read it yourself?! How dare you take advantage of the convenience of your own status, as well as mine to misappropriate the public funds by seducing the company's accountant?! In the end, the project was a failure resulting in huge losses. You keep calling Sun Qian a wench, do you really think you're better than her?! I wonder why you're even my daughter! The company held me accountable for this issue, and demanded that I resign on my own soon. Otherwise..."
The more Jung Tae talked about this, the angrier he was. He almost wanted to strike Yu-min to death on his own.
Today, he had been called to the president's office. No one knew how pissed off he was when his elder brother had threatened him to hand in his own resignation. If not for the fact that Song Ji-Hye had at least raised a rather successful son for him, he would have long kicked his daughter out of the house.
Jung Tae forced himself to hold back his anger and had gone to Sun Qian to seek comfort. Who would have thought Yu-min came to him at that moment. She had even struck his woman and humiliated her. Jung Tae was pushed over the edge and he held her accountable for everything.
Only then did Yu-min panicked. She reached out to grab Jung Tae's thigh. "Father, I..."
Jung Tae moved to the side and avoided her. He evaded Yu-min's outstretched hand toward him. He smirked, "If not for my respect to your mother and Minchul, I don't even want to own you. That's all for today. Get lost now. Go back home and reflect on yourself."
'Show respect to mother and Minchul...' "Wait, Father!" Yu-min immediately looked up. When she saw Jung Tae's silhouette, showing no sign of warmth, she grew increasingly panicked. She lunged at Jung Tae in a flurry of motion while yelling, "Father, Father, I was wrong. I knew that I was wrong... Please, I beg you... I beg you to save Mother... I beg you... If you don't give your hand, Mother is definitely doomed!"
Jung Tae paused mid-stride upon hearing Yu-min's wailing. He turned his head around in bewilderment and cast a glance at her. He asked in a low voice, "Your mother? What happened to your mother?"
Tear marks were all over Yu-min's face. She hugged Jung Tae's thigh tightly. She sobbed, "Mother... Mother has been taken away by the police officers!"
"police officers?" Jung Tae's expression instantly changed. He pulled Yu-min up and asked, "Why has she been taken away by the police officers? Is it because of the things you did previously...?"
Yu-min was stunned. By the time she returned to her senses and realized what Jung Tae was actually referring to, she hurriedly shook her head.
Jung Tae heaved a sigh of relief. Still, his expression looked troubled. "If not that incident, then why did the police officers arrest your mother all of a sudden?"
"They..." Looking at Jung Tae's face that had turned black, Yu-min no longer dared to treat him as a father who used to pamper her. She looked hesitant, not willing to speak out the truth.
Jung Tae had been waiting for a long time, yet Yu-min still did not tell him the reason why. His face darkened and he was about to leave.
Yu-min got worked up. She could not care much less about others and shouted, "The police officers said... They said Mother hired contract killers... They wanted to send Mother to... Send her to..."
"Hired contract killers?" Jung Tae's face was so dark that it was darker than night. "What did she hire contract killers for?"
Looking at Jung Tae's extremely furious face, Yu-min abruptly recalled his words when he shouted angrily at them when they got into an argument last time. She stammered, "Father, don't you know what kind of person Mother is? How could she possibly hire contract killers? It must be... it has to be someone who has purposely set her up. Father, you have to save Mother! You got to save her!"
This time, Jung Tae was not deceived by Yu-min so easily. He leaned closer to Yu-min's face and asked, "Let me ask you, who is the person that your mother wanted to kill?"
If this were the past, Jung Tae definitely would not suspect the gentle woman who had accompanied him for years to commit to such deeds. However, ever since he experienced the event last time, the scale in his heart which had skewed to one side over the past had regained its balance. In fact, it had skewed to the opposite side.
How benevolent would the mother of a child who nearly killed someone be?
Therefore, right after Yu-min spoke, Jung Tae trusted her words. However, certain things did not happen out of nowhere, especially things related to life and death.
Under Jung Tae's glare, Yu-min could no longer hold back herself. She replied to him in shivers, "The person is.... The person is Jennie... Father! Father! There must have been some misunderstanding! Ahhh!"
Before Yu-min finished speaking, Jung Tae had already kicked her to the side. His face turned red as he pointed at Yu-min. He fell speechless for a long time.
"Big Brother Kim, don't get mad! Calm down... Don't hurt yourself." Sun Qian had been hiding at the side. When she saw this, she hurriedly dashed over. She reached out and patted Jung Tae's back. She helped him to calm his breath while comforting him, "Big Brother Kim, don't get angry. listen to Yu-min's explanation first. There could be some misunderstanding between them."
"What misunderstanding can it be?! What can it be?!" Jung Tae pushed away Sun Qian's hand which she used to help to calm his breath. He turned his head around and looked at Yu-min fiercely. "Indeed, that witch cannot tolerate Jennie. She is always finding ways to kill her. Poor me, I never noticed even the slightest bit of this before. She has deceived me for so many years! You go back and tell that venomous woman that I won't save her. Ask her to go to hell!"
After Jung Tae finished speaking, regardless of how Yu-min reacted, he hugged Sun Qian, turned his body around and walked away.
Yu-min's expression changed drastically. She wanted to lunge at him and pulled at him, but was blocked when the door was shut mercilessly.
Before she fell down, she saw Sun Qian's face through the gap of the stainless steel door. There was no sign of humility or frailty on Sun Qian's face. Instead, she looked as seductive yet sinister as a viper.
