Shin-hye drew herself closer to Leo with a smile. She said gently, "Leo, you're right. He's a bad guy. But, those who are related to the bad guys are not always bad guys. You're his son, are you also a bad guy?"
Leo was stunned. He hurriedly said, "I'm not a bad guy."
"Exactly. Even though I'm the bad guy's mother, I am not a bad guy."
As Shin-hye said this, she could not help but make quips to herself. How could her son be so useless?! He still had not regained his wife after such a long time. As a result, his grandson had to call her by her surname. It sounded like she was a stranger to him. Even so, she could not object to this, how painful was that?!
.
Leo was only four years old. He certainly was no match to an adult. In just a moment, he was convinced by Shin-hye. He stupidly thought what his grandma said made some sense. So, he nodded dumbly.
When Shin-hye saw Leo nod his head, she worked harder by continuing, "Since I'm not a bad guy, you shouldn't have transferred your hatred of the bad guy to me. It's unfair to me. If you hate me, I'll be very sad."
While Shin-hye said this, she once again brought out her great acting skill. She used the same trick. She put on a sad face and became engrossed in her acting.
Looking at Shin-hye's pitiful face that was about to cry, Leo panicked. He hurriedly said, "I don't hate you, Grandma Shin-hye. Don't cry, Grandma Shin-hye."
The moment Shin-hye heard his words, she immediately held back her crocodile tears. She still maintained the same pitiful look, and asked for comfort, "Is it true?"
"It's true! It's true!"
"In the future, if you see that bad guy bullying your mother, you come over and tell me, I will help you to teach the bad guy a lesson."
"Really? That's cool!" When Leo heard her words, his large eyes sparkled.
"Of course! He is my son. It's the parents' rightful duty to educate their children." Leo was looking at Shin-hye with admiration, the moment Shin-hye saw this, she immediately gave in to him, and totally forgot her actual purpose of coming over and forming a close bond with her grandson.
'What?! How could I switch sides at the last minute! How about my good-for-nothing son? Who is going to care about him?! Why do I still need a son when I already have a grandson?!'
Leo nodded his head as if he understood her words. He whispered to her, "I am a good boy and I know things, Mother wouldn't punish me."
"Yes, yes, yes. You're right. You're a good boy. How could your mother be willing to reprimand you? Instead, the bad guys deserve to be taught a lesson."
Min-a fell speechless. She quietly stood at the side, looking at the child and the adult each talking bad about their father and son. She sincerely felt sorry for Lisa.
Regardless, the relationship between the two with a generational gap improved rapidly as they discussed the same topic.
By the time Lisa sensed something was not right, it was already... too late. At that time, Shin-hye was already spellbound by Leo and sided with Jennie with no qualms at all.
Of course, all this would happen next.
Under the deliberate exaggeration of entertainment magazines, the incident of Song Ji-Hye being arrested topped the charts for many days. It remained at the top of the list.
Lisa had instructed the publishers that they could only target Song Ji-Hye and Yu-min instead of the entire Kim family.
However, once the gossips were leaked out, they spread like a wildfire. Moreover, Song Ji-Hye and Yu-min were the second madam of the Kim family and second young lady of the Kim family respectively. The incident was more or less related to Jennie. Even if the mass media did not relate the topic to the Kim family on purpose, the others would inevitably relate the incident to the Kim family.
To everyone's surprise, regardless of how sensational the news was in Shalnork, the Kim family never made any public announcement regarding the incident.
Woobin, Jennie, and even the former master of the Kim family turned a blind eye toward the incident.
The people who had reported the news in the organizations were highly experienced. Given Song Ji-Hye and her daughter's status in the family, coupled with the fact that the Kim family did not act on it, they immediately understood how the Kim family had viewed the incident.
Therefore, the publishers did not have the slightest bit of hesitation in them and grew increasingly outrageous in reporting the incident.
While the gossips were rampant and appeared with various versions, Jennie and the rest were indifferent toward the incident. Instead, a certain one who could no longer hold back himself was the first one to speak up.
When it came to the third day after Song Ji-Hye was arrested, Jung Tae, the man whom she had attached to for more than a decade, and even conceived his children to tie him, the same man whom she had thought would not leave her alone to fend for herself, finally, this man refused to be let alone and stood up. He made an outrageous statement in front of the reporters.
In his statements, he shamelessly stated that while Song Ji-Hye was married into the Kim family, they had not had any official ceremony. Besides, Yu-min was not stated in the Kim family's genealogy. In other words, the two were not recognized by the Kim family.
What the two had done were at their own costs, and had nothing to do with him at all.
In fact, when he discovered their deeds, he was very shocked, and he felt heartache. He said he had been deeply disappointed after all that he had done for them over the years. He had even been deceived and kept in the dark for so long. He shuddered at their misdeeds.
Right after the statements were made, the onlookers who wanted chaos went into an instant uproar. One had to say, Jung Tae had truly given his all when he decided to act so shamelessly.
Over the years, or rather when Jennie's mother was still alive, Jung Tae always paired up with Song Ji-Hye whenever they went. His action had implied to the public that Song Ji-Hye was his wife.
Now, he took back his words and even revealed various so-called evidence to prove himself. Only then did the public realize that when Song Ji-Hye was married into the Kim family, she had not had any official ceremony with Jung Tae, be it having a marriage certificate nor a wedding.
On one hand, it was because Song Ji-Hye's status was truly disgraceful. However, the major reason was because Jung Tae had never treated Song Ji-Hye as an equal with himself from the bottom of his heart.
To Jung Tae, Song Ji-Hye was only one of the many women he had an affair with over the years. The only thing she was better than other women was that she was very good at winning Jung Tae's heart, and also had given birth to two children.
Therefore, he rewarded her with all that she had deserved, he rewarded her for all the values she had brought out of herself.
However, once the day came when the woman caused him troubles more than her own values, Jung Tae would kick her out of his life without hesitation.
The pitiful Song Ji-Hye had never earned an official status even after staying by Jung Tae's side for a very long time. She had even ended up a worthless, abandoned woman.
