Anthony arrived at the hospital, exhausted from the eight-hour flight, but seeing Andrea was his top priority. Jetlag could wait.
She was out of surgery and expected to make a full recovery. As he sat by her bedside, waiting for her to wake up, he felt a deep sense of relief when her eyes fluttered open.
"Hi," he said softly.
A small smile appeared on her lips.
"I thought I lost you," he admitted, gripping her hand and kissing it gently.
"Where is Carter? Where's our baby?" she asked, her voice weak but filled with concern.
"He's okay. He's in the nursery," Anthony reassured her. "I'm taking him back to America with me. I'll have the best nurses taking care of you while you recover."
She nodded, gratitude shining in her tired eyes. "Thank you."
"What about your parents? Do they know?" she asked.
"Yes, I told them," he replied in German.

"We'll talk details later, okay? For now, get some rest. Your family is already on the first flight from Germany to see you."
"Okay. Thank you."
He leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I'm just happy you're okay."
With that, he bid her farewell and went to speak with her doctor.
Dr. Audi reassured him that all of Andrea's vitals and bloodwork looked good. If everything continued progressing well, she was expected to make a full recovery soon.
"Thank you, Doctor," Anthony said, grateful for the news.
Before heading to the hotel, he stopped by the nursery. The moment Carter saw him, he ran straight into his arms.
