"He got home, his heart pounding in his chest. He was still reeling from Karlie's decision—she had agreed to give him a second chance, and in just two weeks, they would be married. The excitement surged through him, but a small part of him remained skeptical. Why had she made this decision so suddenly?

Stepping through the front door, he called out, "Mother!" his voice filled with exhilaration.

"Yes, son? What's going on?" she responded, stepping toward him.

"She said yes! Karlie is giving me a second chance! We're getting married in two weeks!" His words tumbled out in a rush, his grin stretching wide.

Carter, who had been nearby, perked up. "Papa, you're marrying Miss Karlie?"

Anthony crouched down to his son's level. "Yes, bud. Is that okay with you?"

Carter's face lit up. "Yes! I love her!"

Anthony ruffled his hair. "Okay, go with your nanny. I'll see you later, alright?"

As Carter ran off, Anthony turned back to his mother, his urgency spilling over. "Mom, I need all the wedding planners you know—anyone who can pull this off on such short notice. She wants something simple, but I want to give her the wedding of her dreams. This is my chance to make things right."

His mother raised a brow, trying to keep up. "Slow down, son. You're talking a mile a minute."

But Anthony was too overjoyed to slow down. He grabbed his mother in a tight hug, lifted her off the ground, and spun her around before setting her back down.

"Mother, I need a wedding planner here tomorrow. She wants to meet with them as soon as possible."

"Alright, alright," she chuckled, smoothing her skirt. "I'll make a few calls."

Anthony let out a breath of relief. "Thank you, Mother!"

His excitement was infectious, spreading through the household. He turned toward the housekeeper, calling out, "Martha, I'm getting married!"

Martha chuckled. "Congratulations, sir."

His mother placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. "Anthony, calm down. It's happening, but take a deep breath."

But he couldn't. This was the second chance he never thought he'd get, and he was determined to make it count.
I'm sorry, Mother. It's just hard to contain my excitement."

Anthony flashed her a sheepish grin before heading upstairs to his room. The moment he shut the door behind him, he exhaled deeply, running a hand through his hair. He lay down on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. "This must be a dream. It can't be real."
