"Tell us everything! How was the ball? What was it like?"
Their excited chatter filled the room, their eagerness impossible to ignore.
"Girls, give your sister a moment," their mother interjected. "She's tired. Off to bed, both of you."
"It's okay, Mom," Karlie said with a small smile. "I don't mind. Come on, you two—let's talk."
She motioned for them to follow her, knowing there was no escaping their questions tonight.
