Aiden's POV:
"When you think this pain is all you deserve, you are right. You are the only one that can decide how long you will walk in hell."
― Shannon L. Alder.Aiden got back to the resort after seeing Kat and Cole off. He was tired, but he also knew he wasn't about to go home to deal with his father. He was not ready. He knew he needed to move out, but now all of his plans made no sense. Nothing made sense without Karlie. He lay in bed. The guys wanted to use the rest of the time they had at the resort to have fun and let loose. When it came to James, Zion, and Justin, they knew how to party. Aiden wondered to himself how they were so carefree. Were they not held to the same standards as him, or was it that they just didn't care? He felt a pain in his heart as he remembered that Karlie was at the wedding with Anthony. He rolled over and screamed into the pillow. "I need to get over this. Maybe, just maybe, I should call Cara," he thought.
He opened the drawer next to the bed and stared at the number. It's now or never. He sat on the bed, number in hand, just looking at it. He thought back on Karlie saying they had to let each other go. The pain of those words, he couldn't bear. He thought about Karlie. He loved her so much, but love isn't enough. He thought it would be, but it isn't. How was he going to go on? Where would he even start? Something is wrong with Karlie. She looks very pale, she looks sick. But she said she was feeling fine, just tired. Enough of this. "I need to have some fun," he said to himself.
He picked up the phone and dialed the number. It rang. He was just about to change his mind when he heard her voice on the other line. "Hello?" "Hi," Aiden stated. He took a deep sigh.
"I'm not good at this, my lady," Aiden said. "Hey, it's okay. How are you? I never thought I would have heard from you," she replied. "Well, to be honest, I didn't want to call either. I'm still at the resort. What's your schedule like? I would love if you join me. I'll be here until Monday," Aiden explained. "Certainly," she replied. "Give me an hour, and I'll be there." "Okay," Aiden replied. "See you then. Bye, my lady." "Call me Cara, okay?" she laughed. "It's okay. I'll see you soon. Pack an overnight bag. I want you to spend the weekend with me." "Okay, sounds fun. See you soon. Goodbye, Aiden," he smiled and hung up the phone.
