"Karlie stepped out of the carriage, taking in her surroundings. They finally arrived. From the first glance, the estate was breathtaking—grand yet inviting, with an air of elegance that whispered wealth and status.

Anthony extended his hand to her. "Shall we?" he asked with a charming smile.

She hesitated for a moment before placing her hand in his. As they stepped inside, Karlie was met with a mesmerizing sight—a garden unlike any she had ever seen. Vibrant flowers bloomed in perfect harmony, their sweet fragrance filling the air, while colorful birds fluttered gracefully between the trees.

For a moment, she forgot everything—the expectations, the looming courtship, even Aiden. All that existed was this enchanting place. It was the most beautiful garden she had ever seen.

"Anthony watched her as she took in the garden, a smirk playing on his lips. "I take it you approve?" he asked.

Karlie nodded, still in awe. "It's stunning."

"I hoped you would think so," he said, leading her toward a stone pathway lined with roses. "I wanted our first outing together to be somewhere special."

She glanced at him, searching for any trace of arrogance, but for once, he seemed sincere.

They walked in silence for a moment, the only sound between them was the soft crunch of gravel beneath their shoes. Karlie let herself enjoy it—the beauty, the tranquility. It was easy to pretend, even if just for a second, that this was a simple stroll with a man she had chosen, rather than an obligation carefully arranged by their families.

Anthony slowed his pace and turned to her. "I know this courtship isn't your choice," he admitted, his voice softer than she expected. "But I'd like for us to at least enjoy our time together. No pressure, no expectations. Just... getting to know each other."

Karlie studied him, surprised by his honesty. For the first time since meeting him, she saw something beyond his confident exterior—understanding.

"Okay," she said cautiously. "No pressure."

Anthony's grin returned. "Good. Now, let me show you my favorite part of the garden."

He led her toward a small table set beneath a grand willow tree, draped with vines and surrounded by blooming wildflowers. A servant stood nearby, ready to pour wine into their glasses.

Karlie took a seat, and Anthony nodded for the servant to pour. The deep red liquid swirled in his glass as he lifted it. "To a fresh start," he toasted.

Karlie hesitated before reaching for her own glass but didn't drink.

Anthony noticed. "You don't drink?"

She shook her head. "No, I never have."

His brows lifted slightly, intrigue flashing across his face. "Not even a little?"
