It's my wedding day!
Katherine woke up early—not that she had slept well. Her head pounded from the aftermath of her bachelorette party, but as she reflected on the night before, a smile spread across her lips.
She rolled over in bed and found Ariel sleeping beside her, her hair tousled against the pillow. Reaching out, she nudged her gently.
"Ari..."
Ariel moaned softly, rolling onto her side before blinking her eyes open.
"Hey," she murmured. "Are you okay?"
Kat let out a small groan, pressing her fingers against her temples.
"Yes, but my head feels like I've been hit by a bus."
Ariel laughed. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. I did warn you about the shots."
She slid out of bed and grabbed the phone, calling for room service.
"Yes, please bring up breakfast and some aspirin. A lot of aspirin."
Kat chuckled as she sat up, running a hand through her hair.
"The stripper guy—Josh, was it?—said we should take aspirin first thing in the morning to fight off the hangover."
"Well, let's hope he knew what he was talking about."
Ariel turned back to Kat, her face suddenly lighting up.
"Kat, oh my gosh, it's your wedding day!"
Kat exhaled, pressing a hand to her chest as the reality hit her again.
"I know."
She felt a wave of emotions wash over her—happiness, excitement, nerves.
"I'm so happy yet so nervous."
Ariel sat beside her on the bed, taking her hands.
"It shall be well, sweetheart. Today is going to be everything you dreamed of—one of the best days of your life."
It was her wedding day. She was about to marry Cole Newman—the first wedding of the season, an event that would have all eyes on her. The months of meticulous planning had all led up to this moment.
She gazed out the window, where the sun was just beginning to rise, casting a golden glow over the room. Her heart pounded in anticipation.
Today, she was going to be a Newman.
