Madison Stone's Point Of View.
"I wish, but I have no time for anything this week." I say after Ashley makes the suggestion that we go to the movies later.
"Oh, you are boxing things up, aren't you?"
"Yes. It's crazy back home. My mom and I are packing up to move, and even though Christopher and the girls are helping us, we still have a lot of stuff to put in boxes."
Yes, my mother found a new house and although I was thinking that I wouldn't like any house, I loved this one, because it is close to where we live, close to the school and the establishments we normally go to, so we won't have to get used to a new routine.
She wanted to move out as soon as possible, because she didn't want to stay in the house anymore, which according to her, for some time now only reminds her of sad things, so when she saw this house that is three blocks away from ours and I told her that I liked it, she didn't think twice and bought it.
"They're not together yet?" Ashley asks and I deny it. "I don't believe that."
"Neither do I, but I'm telling you what they tell me."
"They know they are dating, so what does it cost them to assume?"
"I have no idea. But I think they are almost doing it, because things are getting more and more serious."
"Yeah. I can see it."
My mother and Christopher don't let go of each other anymore. Every time the two of them go out together and when I go along, we look like a family.
Christopher sometimes sleeps at our house and I know that my mother only doesn't sleep at his because she has me. So for me they are already dating, but for some reason they don't want to assume it yet.
"And what about the dance? You are going, right?" Ashley asks as soon as we stop in front of my locker, the same one I open to get today's books.
"If I have already moved and have time, I may go, but I confess I am not excited."
"Why not?" She asks and before I even answer she seems to get an answer. "Andrey will invite you," she says with conviction.
My mom and me will start moving things into the new house on Saturday and will probably finish on Sunday, but then we will still have to organize everything.
The dance is next Saturday, so we will probably still be organizing things and although I hope that Andrey will invite me, I'm not too excited either, because I have an idea how much exhausting it is to move house and arrange things until they are just the way you like them.
"It's not.." she interrupts me.
"He's coming," and I agree as I put the books I will need into my backpack.
"Hi, girls," Andrey speaks excitedly and we greet him back. "You won't believe what I just saw."
"What did you just see?" Ashley asks curiously and we look at him intently.
"I saw Sarah and Bryan hugging each other," and seeing that we don't show any bit of surprise, he is the one who is surprised. "You guys had seen it before?"
"She's right next to Bryan," Ashley comments and he nods, looking over at me.
"Yeah.. I think he's her new love. I spoke to her a little while ago and she told me that she understood that she's not the one I want and that she can't do anything to change that."
"She told me something similar too.." I say closing my locker.
"Although I didn't like her until she decided to evolve, I hope that's true and they're happy," Ashley says and I just nod because she already knows my opinion on the matter.
"Are you jealous of Bryan, Mad?" He asks with a sad smile and I deny it.
"No, not at all. On the contrary, I hope he stays with her. That way he won't suffer and you won't have any more reasons to fight."
"Got it.."
"And what about you? Are you upset that she stopped liking you?" I ask and Ashley gives a small laugh.
"No. I want them to be together too, because then Bryan will stop chasing you and she will have someone who really likes her."
"Good then."
"Are you going to the dance, Andrey?" And I stare at Ashley when she says that, because I know what she means by that.
"I think so," he looks at me. "Are you going, Mad?"
"I don't know. I'm pretty busy with the moving," and he nods.
"If you want I will help you," he offers and I smile.
"Thank you." We stare at each other for a few seconds.
I'm in love with him.
"Hmm.. let's go to the class, Mad? Because if not, we're going to be late," and I agree with Ashley, snapping out of the trance.
"Yeas.. let's go." I look at the blue-eyed boy again. "See you later, Andrey," I get closer and give him a quick hug.
"See you later, girls."
We walk away from him and start walking towards the history room.
Alexander was arrested and Williams was fired at the request of the parents of the students at the meeting that the coordinator Susan made to apologize to them, the same one who took over as director of the school, so I can finally say that I closed that chapter of my life.
"You know that you kind of turned down his invitation, right?" Ashley speaks indignantly and I deny it.
"No. I just spoke the truth."
"Yes, but now he will be scared to ask you to go to the dance with him and get a no," and now I glare at her, because it wasn't my intention.
"It will be?"
"Very likely. You're lucky he loves you and might try to risk something."
"I hope if I decide to go that him take the risk," I say and she laughs.
"I want so bad you to be together again," and I smile.
"Me too. I'm just waiting the right time."
"I understand, but don't be like Ryan who spent a lot of time waiting for the right moment," she jokes and we laugh.
"Don't worry. I won't do that."
"Now changing the subject quickly.. we're here joking and happy, but if we had to take a class with Alexander now, we'd be angry and discouraged," Ahsley comments and I give a small smile, because it's true.
"Yes. I completely agree."
"What do you think of the new teacher?"
"I still don't have a concrete opinion, but I'm sure of one thing.."
"She's better than Alexander," we say at the same time and laugh about it, walking into the room shortly after.
