Madison Stone's Point Of View.
I go downstairs and see my mother sitting on the sofa with a man, who I believe is the delegate, but as soon as they see me, they get up.
"Christopher, this is my daughter." My mother introduces me to the tall, light brown haired man, who gives a small smile.
I approach them and hold out my hand to greet him.
"Pleasure, I'm Madison Stone." He also stretches out his hand and we exchange a handshake.
"You gave us quite a scare. Pleasure Madison, I'm Christopher Baker. I'm the deputy who was working to find you, but now that you've been found, I can close the case," he says and I nod my head in agreement.
"Sit down Madison, we have to talk," Mom speaks, sitting down again with Deputy Baker and I do as she asks.
They look at each other and seem to be tuned into a glance conversation, which even makes it seem like they have known each other for quite some time.
"Madison, your mother showed me the letter you wrote to her. Do you remember what you wrote?" And I agree, remembering a request I left on the paper.
"Has anyone watered Anthony's little plants?"
"I watered them every day," my mother says and I agree gratefully. "But that's not what we want to talk about daughter."
"You want to talk about the harassment business, don't you?" I say and they agree clumsily.
"We want you to explain what happened so I can see what I can do for you," Deputy Baker says taking his cell phone out of his pocket and I agree, not expecting anything to be done.
"Wouldn't I have to go to the police station to give my statement?"
"Yes, but your mother thinks it's better to understand what happened first so that we can advise you in the best way, so that you can then go to the police station and give your statement," he says, reassuringly.
"Got it." I pause briefly. "It happened..." I start to explain what happened, but I am interrupted by the sound of the doorbell ringing.
"It must be Bryan," my mother gets up and goes to the door to open it.
"Do you think justice will be done?" I ask the man who is looking at the door, but upon hearing as my question, directs his gaze to me.
"Why do you think it wouldn't be?" He asks curiously and I deny.
"It's hard enough to prove you are the victim with evidence, imagine without. I don't have any hard evidence, so he's hardly going to pay for what he did," I say without even making a point to hide my frustration.
"Don't worry about it. Just tell me everything that really happened and I assure you I will do what I can to help you," he gives me a comforting smile and I give him a brief smile back.
"Do you have a daughter?" I ask, because the way he spoke to me, he not only seemed to want to help me, but also that he put himself in my shoes.
"No. But in case I did, I wouldn't want something like that to happen to her and justice to do nothing." And I nod my head in agreement. "By the way, I don't think a man needs to have a daughter to fight it."
"I wish all men would think that way too."
"I'm back!" Bryan says excitedly as he comes in, but seeing our expressions, his excitement fades.
