This is what I call a Marquis(said Markee).
It is a massive creature, covered in feathers and under that, a short layer of fur, but no scales. However, they are still classified as a dragon, mostly bcs I said so. They live in caves in cliffs right against the sea. It eats fish, can hold its breath for 20 minutes, and usually spends its days flying above the ocean. It is very peaceful, but due to its size and power, humans who find it are scared of it, so it tries to stay hidden.
To give a good size comparison, if anyone knows how big the dragon Danaerys rides is, it's that big. Imma add on that, I managed to see a few references of how they move and their movement capabilities, so now they also move the same way. They cannot breathe fire, however. Also, fun fact, when they're on the ground, or landed, their tail feathers will fold in, but when they're about to take off, they flare open again.
In terms of color, they can be either white, black, or a dark navy blue, and its eyes are brown with a golden ring around the irises. Depending on where they live, they have some certain abilities to help them with their environments, too. For instance, the blue ones, they live by the sea, so they can hold their breath longer, and the way their feathers are resemble that of a penguin's or even a bird of prey to help them in and out of the water. The white ones are able to withstand freezing temperatures because their layer of fur is thicker, and the feathers are better suited for trapping heat and retaining it. The black ones can blend into rocky mountainsides, their feet are tougher to keep from being cut and injured, and they can even survive on thinner air, as they live in higher up places. On that note, hen two different colored Marquis mate, their offspring will likely have traits from both parents, so they can live in more places.
I watched HTTYD 3 recently, and I decided something.
These dragons sound exactly like the Night and Light furies.
I found it hard to find sounds they make so screw it they sound like night and light furies.
And another thing, they don't naturally have earrings, I just have a thing for giving creatures with ears like that earrings.
I don't have much more to say about this thing, I just wanted to be like, hey people I made a new dragon. Behold.
If, for some random reason any of you decide you wanna try and draw it or use it in a story for some reason(I'll probably add history and more to it as time progresses, but feel free to suggest your ideas), go ahead.
