I wanted to be absolutely sure I don't set anyone off so I figured, make the title the trigger warning and then you CAN'T miss it. Anyway, we all know what happens: I get bored, draw/color something, and put it here for content and bcs why not. This is also, warning to those who are reading or interested in Sealed Life, sorta kinda spoilers?? But if you don't care and are just here for whatever I came up with now then go right on ahead :) (another note is that since October, I've been leaning into a more...morbid and dark side of myself, which is where the sudden trigger warning art has come from)
So I was on Pinterest, looking for vibes and things that felt right for the story, and found an image of a template: someone holding another in their arms, looking broken and lost. I saw that, went 'mm, trauma' and then decided to draw over it and make it Scar and Xerean.
That's what this is; if you're squeamish about blood, injuries, idk if this counts as very mild gore(don't think so but I don't wanna miss anything either), I am clarifying now: there is...a LOT in this image.
With that being said, enough beating around the bushes, here y'all go :)

This is the original image; Pinterest is a magical place. I didn't want to follow the exact same lines, so that's why Scar's face specifically is more detailed. I couldn't find a way to make Xe's face look different, but I tried to at least move the mouth a little bit, give her a nose, and, well, the rest of the additions to make them the characters they are.

So I have one with words and without, this is obviously the one without words. I had a friend help me make the injuries look a little more real, most notably the cut on Xe's neck, the claw marks on Scar's shoulder, and the blood on Xe's face. Which I apologize for, btw, it's...not as good as I had hoped. Drawing dead bodies is hard, and the expression in the original image wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped. I'm still learning how to draw, believe it or not, so stuff like facial features are a little wonky here. I gotta admit, I'm a bit happy with the colors and shading, the scorch marks all over Xerean's dress-sweater-cape thing(if anyone has an idea what it's called I would LOVE to know) were harder than I expected to do, and I deliberately left the sunflowers there, just changed the colors. The stain on Scar's arm, I'm also a little proud of, if not only because I actually used the blending tool properly for once lol

Hoping this is a little angsty, it makes a little sense when you compare it to the story, but the words are mostly for my benefit, ngl. I figured I'd put it here for a little context.
Anyway I apologize if this set anyone off, this is kinda me just seeing how responsive people are to if I made stuff like this sometimes. If you really don't like it, if y'all are like, "omg, how could you possibly make something like this?? This is horrible!", I genuinely don't mind getting rid of it either, last thing I want is for something I made to upset someone else.
