The next morning, Mariah walked up to Elena and Stephan.
"Hey Stephan" Mariah smiled, putting her hand on his shoulder. She looked down at her hand as it glowed red. She gasped, pulling away. She looked down at her hand with a furrowed brow
"M?" Elena spoke. Mariah looked up at her with a confused look "u ok?" She asked. Stephan looked at her with a furrowed brow.
"Uh..yeah." Mariah nodded. She chuckled, shaking her head "yeah. Just tired" she shrugged it off "I'll see u later" she told them, walking away

"U think I'm crazy?" Mariah asked Bonnie as they stood in the hallway together
"Crazy? No. Tired? Probably" Bonnie told her. She put her hand on her shoulder "look..glowing hands? That's impossible"
"And being a witch is?"
"I'm not a witch, M. I know that"
"But ur psychic?"
"Psychic is completely different from glowing hands"
"I know" Mariah sighed
"Hey" Bonnie nudged Mariah "maybe it was a trick of the light" she shrugged "u know?"
"Yea" Mariah nodded "ur right. I'll see u later" she told her, walking away.

"Dinner?" Mariah asked Elena "and why do I have to be involved?"
"Because im asking u. Plus..I want u to like him" Elena told her
"I never said I didn't like her. I just said I was..iffy"
"And that's why ur having dinner with us, whether u like it or not" Elena told her and Mariah groaned slightly, rolling her eyes

Mariah, elena, Bonnie and Stephan sat at an awkward dinner. They got to the topic of Bonnie's family witches. Stephan weirdly knew a lot ab that, pretty much winning bonnie over when the door bell rang. Elena went and answered the door and Caroline and Stephan's brother Damon came inside. Mariah leaned over the table and looked at Bonnie
"Who's that?" She whispered
"Stephan's brother" Bonnie whispered back
"And what is he doing with Caroline? And how old is he?" Mariah asked
"Idk and idk but I'm not sure I like it" Bonnie told her. Mariah nodded as she looked at Damon and Caroline with a furrowed brow.

"I can not believe that Mr. Tanner let u on the team" Caroline chuckled as the group sat in the living room
"Tyler must be seething" Mariah chuckled.
"I have always told him to engage. U can't just sit there and wait for life to come get u. U have to go get it" Damon told everyone. Everyone could feel the tension between Stephan and Damon
"Yeah Elena wasn't so lucky today" Caroline spoke again. It's only bc u missed summer camp. God, how r u gonna lead the routine?"
"I'll work with her. She'll get it" Bonnie told her
"Hey u don't seem like cheerleader type, Elena" Damon told her
"It's just bc her parents died" care told him "yeah, I mean, she's just totally going through a blah phase. She used to be way more fun" she chuckled "and I say that with complete sensitivity" she stated
"And Mariah, right?" Damon asked and Mariah nodded "r u a cheerleader?"
"Uh..no. No. I'm not the peppy type. I'm also not the exercise type" Mariah told him. Damon nodded
"Neither was I" he chuckled.

"Idk bout that damon guy" Mariah whispered to Elena as they stood cleaning up the kitchen
"He doesn't seem too bad. I mean..hurt? Yes..but evil?..I'm not so sure" Elena told her.
"U see the good in people. I dont" Mariah told her "I dont like him"
"But Stephan? What ab him?" Elena asked. Mariah sighed
"He doesn't seem as bad as bonnie made him out to be" she admitted, not liking that she had to admit she was wrong. Elena smiled
"Thank you" she told her
"Yeah yeah" Mariah nodded, rolling her eyes.

The next morning, Mariah stood in the door way to Elena's room to see Elena not in uniform
"U quit?" Mariah asked. Elena sighed
"Yeah" she nodded
"Good." Mariah told her, jumping on Elena's bed, making her laugh "it isnt in the Gilbert blood to be sporty. It's good u finally came over to the dark side" she told her with an evil smile. Elena laughed

That night was the football game. Mariah stood with Elena when they walked over to see Tyler fighting Jeremy.
"Tyler!" Mariah yelled. She ran over as tyler got on top of Jeremy, punching him. She grabbed Tyler's shoulder and Tyler lifted his shoulder, elbowing her in the eye. Mariah fell to the ground
"Mariah? I'm sorry" Tyler told her. Jeremy looked at his sister and then Tyler angrily, starting to fight him again. Stephan game over and for Tyler off of him. Jeremy picked up some broke glass to hit Tyler with, only he missed and hit Stephan's hand, or so they thought at least. Elena shoved Jeremy back while mat shoved tyler back. Jeremy looked down at his sister and sighed, going over and reaching out for her. Mariah looked at him angrily, shoving his hand away as she stood up
"What the hell is wrong with u?!" She yelled at him. Jeremy sighed, looking down
"R u ok?" Jeremy asked. Mariah scoffed
"Pull yourself together Jeremy. I'm sick of how ur acting! Look I tried not to be annoying like Elena and Jenna. I tried to give u space. But this whole 'I don't care ab anything or anyone' act..it's seriously getting old" she told him, rolling her eyes before walking away.
