Road Trip And Conflicting Feelings

"U sure u should be going on a trip alone...with Damon?" Mariah asked Elena as she watched her pack her bag
"Jeremy isn't safe in Denver anymore. We have to bring him back"
"I know..but with Damon" Mariah complained
"I'll be alright, m. U don't need to worry ab me. It's more u..that I should worry ab"
"I cut Kol loose, alright? U and Bonnie got ur wishes. He's out of my life" Mariah told her
"I'm sorry..but I don't rly believe u..when u want something, u don't hold back from it, even when they do u wrong. Let Tyler be an example"
"Ok" Mariah scoffed "Tyler only did me wrong bc u got it in his head that he needed to break up with me..when he cheated on me, we broke up..and I stayed away from him. Unlike u, Elena, I actually have self control..and I know when someone is bad news" Mariah told her, slightly angrily
"Im sorry" Elena told her "im just worried ab u"
"And I already told u..there is nothing to worry ab anymore, ok?" Mariah told her, annoyed "so why don't u just worry ab bringing out little brother home safe instead of worrying I'll fall of the Kol deep end, alright?" She told her before walking out of the room. Elena sighed, zipping her bag up.

Mariah walked around the school the next day, helping get ready for the school dance
"I've never actually done the whole school thing" Kol spoke as he started to follow her. Mariah rolled her eyes "and I actually wasn't alive during the 20s..so maybe this will be fun" he spoke. Mariah shook her head
"U just don't know how to take a hint, do u?" She asked, annoyed as she stepped onto a ladder to hang up some streamers
"U know, one wave of ur hand and all of these will be hung up in an instant" Kol pointed out
"Yeah..and everyone in my school will know I'm a witch" Mariah told him. Kol shrugged
"Being a witch is a gift..u should show it off" he told her. Mariah scoffed, rolling her eyes as she stepped down from the ladder
"Yeah..and then everyone I know will start using me for my magic..like some people I know" she stated, giving him a look before walking away. Kol sighed, angrily. He had hoped that would work
"We'll then, I guess I'll just have to try harder then" he whispered before walking away.

Mariah looked down at her phone to see a text from Caroline
"Leaving. See u later ;)" she texted. Mariah smiled before glancing over at Matt and Rebekah
"Did u know?" Kol asked. Mariah rolled her eyes, turning around to see him
"Know ab what?" Mariah asked
"Did u know ab the white oak stakes?" Kol asked her. Mariah took a breath
"No" she answered. Kol looked at her, not believing her and Mariah rolled her eyes "is it rly hard for u to believe that they didn't tell me?" She asked "they didn't trust me" she told him
"Why? Because of me?"
"What else?" Mariah scoffed "they didn't trust that I would help them kill u."
"And now? Will u help them kill me if they can?" Kol asked. Mariah looked at him for a moment. She sighed
"I have a gym to decorate" she stated, walking away. Kol smiled
"Or" he spoke making Mariah stop walking. Kol walked up to her, brushing up against her as he moved in front of her. Mariah rolled her eyes "u could come spend the day with me" he suggested. Mariah shook her head
"No" she answered "I don't trust u" she told him, walking away. She walked over to her car to grab something when Kol sped up to her. Mariah turned around to face him "what?" She asked
"I'm sorry, love" he told her. Mariah furrowed her brows when Kol smashed her head into the car, knocking her unconscious. She fell to the ground and Kol caught her. He looked at her for a moment, brushing the hair out of her face gently, he sighed "this isn't gonna win me any points" he spoke, picking her up and carrying her away.

A few hours later, Mariah woke up in a car. She groaned, holding her head, pulling an ice pack from it, furrowing her brows
"There u are" Kol spoke. Mariah gasped slightly, turning to see him in the drivers seat "u slept through the whole plane ride. I was starting to worry" he told her.
"Plane ride?" Mariah asked. She looked around her, watching as they passed a sign that said a town name and state name, Denver "Denver? Why are we in Denver?" Mariah asked panickingly
"My brother informed me of ur sister and Damon's little trip...and what they are looking for. I plan on stopping then from finding out what blood line they come from. Then they won't try and kill us" he smiled
"And what am I? Leverage..so they don't fight back?"
"I rly am sorry, love. Truly. I didn't have a choice"
"U do realize Damon doesn't care ab me. If u attack him, he will fight back and he will go through me to get to u no matter what Elena says"
"I think u underestimate his love for Elena. He won't hurt u"
"U know, two days ago, u wanted to protect me from Damon. U were afraid he'd hurt me"
"I won't let him hurt u" he told her truthfully. Mariah scoffed
"Ur insane. Ur absolutely insane" she told him. She turned to the door, trying to open it "let me out" she told him angrily.
"I can't do that darling. U know that"
"Kol pull over! Now!" Mariah yelled. She messed with the handle "Kol stop the car!" She yelled and Kol slammed on the breaks. Mariah unlocked the door and got out of the car. She groaned, holding her head as she started to walk
"Get back in the car, Mariah. U don't know where u are" Kol told her as he leaned on the car, watching her walk away
"Stay away from me!" Mariah yelled. Kol sighed, slightly annoyed before speeding in front of her. Mariah gasped, stopping.
"U don't know where u are. U don't know how to get home. U don't have ur phone and u don't have any money. U need me"
"I will figure it out. Anything is better then u" Mariah fumed, walking passed him but Kol grabbed her arm, stopping her, pulling her to face him again. He sighed, looking at her head as blood trickled down her face.
"I have bandages in the car." He told her
"Ur the one who gave me this!" Mariah yelled, pointing at her head
"I didn't mean to hit u that hard, love. Rly. I'm sorry" he told her sincerely.
"I won't let u hurt my family"
"And I can't let u and ur friends hurt mine" kol told her "u see my dilemma here?" He asked with a smile.
"U could take Damon. He's no where near as strong as u. U could take him easily. Why do u need me..really?" She asked. Kol sighed, putting his hands on his hips
"I quite like ur company" he shrugged with a smile. Mariah scoffed
"U mean, u like me yelling at u?" She asked "u are seriously messed up" she told him, trying to walk away again but kol stopped her again
"How ab I make u a deal?" He asked "u come with me..and I won't hurt Elena or Jeremy"
"And Damon?"
"If he fights then I'll have to hurt him" kol shrugged "but if he doesn't..then I won't." He told her
"U see..the thing is..I don't believe u" Mariah told him. Kol sighed, holding out his hands
"How ab u have a look inside my head then, hm?" He told her "then you'll know that u can trust me" he told her. Mariah looked at him with a raised brow "go on. Have at it" he told her. Mariah raised her hands, grabbing his and closing her eyes for a moment. After a moment she opened them, her face dropping "see? Feel that?" Kol asked, caressing her hands with his thumbs as he held her hands "u know I won't rly hurt u..or let anything bad happen to u..and now u know I'm telling the truth then I say I won't hurt ur siblings" he told her. Mariah looked down, angry that she knew she could believe him. Kol took a step closer to her "u can trust me" he told her softly
"If I can trust u, then why did u hurt me?" Mariah asked. Kol sighed, raising his hand and wiping the blood off of her head
"I'm sorry" he whispered. Mariah furrowed her brows briefly, feeling like he meant it
"U can't just..hurt people" she scoffed slightly "I don't know if you've forgotten but..I'm human. I can die. I know u can't and that u don't care about any living thing..that u think we're all just a means to an end.." she took a step closer to him "but if u care ab me..even just a little bit..u wouldn't have hurt me to get what u want" she told him. Kol looked down, sighing. "But whatever. I'll come with u..but only bc I don't have anywhere else to go" she stated, walking back to the car. Kol sighed, angry at himself, starting to follow her.
