-"Ur gonna be great at this" Mariah heard a voice from behind her as she sat at her desk. She furrowed her brows and turned around to see the man Kaleb
"Who r u?" She asked. Kaleb smiled as he walked closer
"U don't remember me?" He asked as he sat down on her bed a couple feet away from her. Mariah shook her head in response "I'm Kaleb" Kaleb told her
"I don't know u." Mariah spoke "why am I dreaming ab u?" She asked. Kaleb smiled
"U don't know me....yet" he corrected "but u will...I promise u, u will" he assured her- Mariah opened her eyes to see her ceiling above her. She leaned over and shut off her ringing alarm clock confused as she thought ab her dream. She looked off into space as she tried to think of a time when she saw someone named Kaleb, but nothing came up. She had no idea who that was.

"Bonnie!" Elena called out to Bonnie as she caught up with her in the court yard of the school. Bonnie stopped walking
"Hey." She greeted, slightly awkwardly
"Hey, I tried to grab you after class but you already taken off. How are you? How's your family?"
"We're dealing, it's been hard."
"Everyone here really missed you."
"Yeah, I just had so much to deal with after Grams' funeral and, honestly after Mariah told me the tomb spell failed I just didn't really want to come back."
"I know it's been really hard.."
"Bonnie! Bonnie!" Caroline called out as she and Mariah ran over and hugged her "Thank god you're home!"
"God, I know we talked everyday but I missed you." Mariah told Bonnie
"How are you doing?" Care asked bon
"Better. Better. You know, glad to be back and trying to keep myself busy." Bonnie answered
"Well, we can help with that. Major wardrobe problem. You need to help me pick up the perfect dress for the Founders' court." Care smiled
"The Founders' court? Did I miss something?" Elena asked
"The Founders' court! You know, Miss Mystic Falls. They announced it today and you, me and care on it." Mariah answered
"Oh my god! We signed up for that so long ago...I completely forgot" elena stated
"So, are you dropping out then?" Elena asked
"I can't." Elena shook her head
"No?" Care asked
"Their mom is the one who wanted them to enter" Bonnie told Caroline. Mariah nodded as she looked down
"It's gonna be so much fun" she stated with a fake smile.

Mariah stood with some other couples in the school cafeteria across from Tyler as mrs Lockwood taught them all the dance for miss mystic falls. Mariah wouldn't even look Tyler in the eyes as they danced, not allowed to touch, good for Mariah
"Mar" Tyler whispered
"Not now Tyler" Mariah told him as they danced
"Come on. Let me explain"
"I said, not now Tyler" she whisper fumed at him. Tyler sighed
"Look, I don't have to be ur date if u don't want me to be"
"Yeah we'll, u have to be. I'm doing this for my mom and ur doing this for yours. Plus, I can't find a new one this fast" she stated, rolling her eyes "sadly"

The day of miss mystic falls, Mariah stood in a room in the Lockwood house with the other contestants, including Elena and Caroline
"Ur gonna win, care. I'm telling u" Mariah told Caroline
"Idk..u and Elena are the golden girls and.." she paused
"We have the sympathy vote?" Mariah asked and care sighed
"M..I didn't"
"It's ok, care" Mariah chuckled "I get it. Ur right..but I'm not even trying and Elena is incredibly unprepared, so...we are out of the run. Trust me"
"So why r u both still doing it?" Care asked. Mariah looked down "right. For ur mom" she nodded
"Yeah" Mariah nodded
"So..what's going on between u and Elena? I sense tension" she told her. Mariah sighed
"Elena and I are adopted" she answered and Caroline's eyes widened
"Rly? Did she keep that from u or something?"
"No..she didn't keep it from me. What she kept from me was...that we aren't sisters" she told her. Caroline's eyes widened
"Omg" she whispered "ur not.."
"Yep" Mariah nodded
"Omg, m" care put her hand on Mariah's shoulder "I'm so sorry"
"It's ok." Mariah nodded. She sighed "let's just get through this" she told her.

Mariah walked down the steps as they announced her name in her floor length strapless red dress, walking down and holding out her hand and Tyler took it, the two linking arms. They smiled as they walked out to the back for the dance, Elena coming out next.
"I know u would much rather be at home, watching a movie with snacks and popcorn"
"U don't know me" Mariah scoffed
"Ya, I do" Tyler told her "look, I'm sorry."
"For what? For cheating or beating the hell out of Matt?"
"Can I do all of the above?" He asked as they stopped on the dance floor.
"Only if u actually r" Mariah rolled her eyes
"I am" Tyler told her. Everyone else came out, Elena with Damon. Mariah furrowed her brows at Elena standing with Damon instead of Stephan. She huffed slightly, rolling her eyes as the dance started.
