"Ugh, is this what's it's come to? I bear the full weight of our kingdom while you pout like a child." Klaus asked Marcel as he walked into see Marcel drinking sadly

"You wanted to be king. Besides, you look like you got it covered." Marcel shrugged

"If the men see you shirk your duties, they're likely to do the same."

"I told you, I am not in the mood for vampire hijinks."

"No. You'd rather sit wallowing in sorrow for your lost little friend" klaus told him, annoyed

"Klaus" Mariah snapped at him as she walked into the room catching his attention "don't be a dick. He lost someone. Give him a break" she told him. Klaus signed, annoyed

"I am sorry Davina is gone, okay? I'm sorry. But this mournful attitude is unworthy of you, and it's boring to me." He told Marcel when Diego walked into the room

"Hey, guys, we got a problem." He told them all.

Diego lead Mariah, Marcel and klaus to the Cauldron. Thunder tumbled over their heads as they walked inside to see two desiccated vampires with a magical symbol carved into their heads as they laid in a magic salt circle with runes drawn inside

"We came to mess with the witches, just like you said. And these two, they went missing. Found them like this, not even staked. Just dead." Diego told them

"That's two more of my guys gone. Nice job, Captain." Marcel told klaus, annoyed before walking away

"Where are you going? Someone has to account for this!" Klaus yelled at him

"You want revenge, get it yourself. That mark is tied to some bad mojo." Marcel told before turning to the other vampires around "Any of y'all got any brains, you'll head back to the compound and stay the hell out of this." He stated before leaving. Klaus turned to Mariah as she stood kneeled down as close to the bodies as she could get. She looked up at klaus as he looked at the symbol on their heads

"U know what this is" she realized

"I had hoped I'd never see that symbol again" he stated

"I can siphon the spell protecting there bodies so we can break the connection.." she told him. Klaus nodded before looking at deigo

"We're gonna find whoever did this, and I will show them what suffering is" he told him before walking away and Mariah siphoned the spell off of the dead vampires.

"Ah! Someone will die for this." Klaus spoke angrily

"Remarkably, I don't disagree. However, I would like to know where they learned such dark magic." Elijah stated

"I had hoped never to see that symbol again. I recall it is the signature of a fool who once stood against us." Klaus spoke

"Clearly, some upstart which is salvaging old tricks."

"I'll do for him as I did the other." Klaus stated. He turned to Diego "Diego, when night falls, I want you to gather every vampire in the Quarter. Get me the head of whoever did this and put it on a stick."

"Yeah. That's gonna be a problem. Everyone is freaked out, man. We haven't had witches killing vampires in a long time. Marcel made sure of that." Diego told him

"Marcel has run off like a scared child. You lot are left with me. Now, who of you will fight to defend our home?" Klaus asked, turning to all the vampires around "Not a single one of you will stand with me, so afraid are you of this new threat? You should know better. I'll handle this myself." Klaus stated before storming off
