"Mariah" Tyler spoke, walking up to her at school on the last day. Mariah turned around to see him. She smiled slightly
"Hey, how u doing?" She asked softly
"Im ok..considering" Tyler shrugged. Mariah nodded
"And u? How r u doing?" Tyler asked her
"Im ok..considering" Mariah shrugged, chuckling slightly and Tyler smiled for a moment before being serious again
"Look, im sorry, mar. I was a total jerk to u." He told her
"I wasn't girlfriend of the year either" Mariah admitted
"I just...I wish u told me , u know?" He sighed "but u were right. U told me everything and I was still so closed off. Im sorry" he told her. Mariah smiled, pulling him into a hug
"It's ok" she told him "Thankyou" she told him
"And thanks by the way..for protecting me with Damon and the klaus guy"
"Any time" Mariah smiled. "I wasn't gonna let them hurt u"
"Even after how I treated u?" Tyler asked, chuckling
"Like I said, I wasn't girlfriend of the year either" Mariah shrugged. Tyler nodded
"Friends?" He asked. Mariah nodded with a smile
"Yeah" she told him "of course"

(Now)
"Is our birthday, Elena" Mariah spoke to Elena as she walked around her room, getting ready "take a break from finding Stephan for one day, would u please?" she asked.
"I can't give up." Elena told her. "I have to find him"
"Have u forgotten the not so little fact that Klaus thinks ur dead and he needs to keep thinking that?"
"We've had this conversation a million times, m. Ur not changing my mind"
"Ur right, Elena. U already died once...who cares if u die again" Mariah shrugged sarcastically, annoyed.
"M" Elena started
"Stop Elena." Mariah told her. She scoffed "u know, u loving those two vampires has already gotten Jenna killed, Jeremy killed twice, and then u killed along with a bunch of innocent people. Let's not forget that Tyler is a werewolf now, Caroline's a vampire and Bonnie almost died trying to save ur ass."
"Ok. Mariah" Elena snapped at her slightly "I get it. U hate them and u hate me. Ok?" She told her. Mariah sighed, rolling her eyes
"Just don't ruin our birthday for me too with ur selfish little boyfriend hunt, k?" She asked, walking past her. Elena sighed, looking down.

"Ok...this needs to be perfect" Mariah told Caroline and Tyler as they set up for the birthday party at the Salvatore house
"It will be" care told her "it's gonna be amazing"
"Why does it need to be perfect?" Tyler asked. Mariah rolled her eyes
"Because since junior year started it's been all about Elena and Damon and Stephan and supernatural and blah blah blah" Mariah told them. "I need a break"
"I get it" Tyler told her "I would too if I were u"
"Yeah" Mariah sighed "I mean, I get that Elena loves Stephan, and I don't hate him, alright? It's just..."
"He jacked up all of our lives?" Tyler finished for her. Mariah nodded
"I don't mean to be a bitch" she told him
"I get it" Tyler told her. Caroline looked between the two for a moment. She shook it off
"So we forget ab it tonight" she told her "tonight is ur birthday and we are gonna have some fun..and not think ab supernatural anything" care told her. Mariah smiled, nodding her head
"Now that sounds like a plan" she smiled.

Mariah walked down the stairs in a short, deep orange dress, hearing the loud music blaring in her ears
"Hey!" Caroline smiled, handing Mariah a drink.
"Thank you" Mariah smiled.

"Let's face some fun" care told her, linking arms with her and pulling her away.
Mariah watched Caroline compel Tyler's date to leave
"What the hell?" He asked care annoyed. Care rolled her eyes and stomped away
"She likes u" Mariah told him making him turn to her. He looked at her confused before chuckling awkwardly.
"What?" He asked "no" he shook his head.
"She does" Mariah walked towards him with a smile "and u like her" she told him. Tyler sighed, looking down
"What am I supposed to do?" He asked
"Tell her" Mariah chuckled. She rolled her eyes "oh god. U boys are incredibly stupid" she laughed. Tyler rolled his eyes "Tyler" Mariah put her hands on his shoulders "if u need my permission to date someone new...here u to. U have it." She smiled at him "now go get the girl" she told him. Tyler sighed, nodding his head "go!" Mariah shoved him and Tyler out his hands in the air
"Alright. Ok" he nodded "I'm gone" he told her, walking away. Mariah smiled, watching him walk away. Once he was out of sight, her smile faded. She pulled her drink to her mouth and drank what was left before walking away
