The next day at 'Scoops Ahoy' Dustin came by, he saw Jess leaning up against the wall on the counter while Robin was behind the counter handing out ice creams. ''Have a nice day,'' she exclaimed sarcastically as she handed the young couple their ice creams. Dustin waved to his sister and she waved back.
''Hi,'' Dustin smiled in his usual toothy grin.
''Hi,'' Robin said.
''I'm Dustin.''
''I'm Robin, you must be Jess's little brother.''
''Sure am, it's a pleasure to meet you. Uh is...is he here?'' Dustin exclaimed.
''Is who here?'' Robin questioned.
Suddenly the door of the back of the parlour pushed open to see a thrilled and excited Steve jumping in the air. ''Henderson, Henderson, he's back! He's back!'' Steve exclaimed running over towards his little curly haired buddy.
''I'm back, you got the job,'' Dustin implied, smiling.
''I got the job,'' Steve exclaimed as he imitated playing a trumpet.
The two did a secret handshake, pretending to have a pretend lightsabre battle before Dustin pretended to stab him and Steve wiped all the pretend blood away and the two of them just laughed.
''How many children are you friends with?'' Robin asked, glaring at Steve as Jess hopped over the counter.
''Well Steve and I basically babysat and befriended about six kids,'' Jess implied.
Steve just sighed and Jess gestured for her brother and Steve to enter one of the booths with her. Steve gave Dustin his banana split that he had asked for. ''No, no, no way. Hotter than Phoebe Cates? No,'' Steve exclaimed, not believing what Dustin had said.
''Mmmm-hmm. Brilliant too, and she doesn't even care that my real pearls are still coming in. She says kissing is better without teeth,'' Dustin implied.
''Wow, yeah, that's great. Proud of you, man. That's ro...that's kinda romantic. That's like...wow,'' Steve stammered.
Dustin nodded as he ate his ice cream, Jess dug into it and had some of it too. ''So do you two really get to eat as much of this as you want?'' Dustin asked.
''Yeah, I mean sure, it's not a really good idea for me though I gotta keep in shape for Jess for when we...you know when we...'' Steve replied before having Jess's hand clasped to his mouth stopping him from speaking.
''All he does is eat ice cream,'' Jess laughed and Steve took her hand away, he pulled her in closer towards her and pressed a kiss to her lips.
''You two are super gross come on, she's my sister man,'' Dustin rolled his eyes.
''Well get used it to, Dusty, Steve and I are a couple now,'' Jess exclaimed as Steve had his arm draped over her shoulder.
''Yeah and how's all that working out for you?'' Robin butted in.
