Chapter 45

The quintet gathered up Nancy's set of bikes and pedalled their way down to Eddie's trailer, as they rode they could hear the sounds of the bats squawking in the distance and as they looked beyond them they could make out the upside down version of the Creel House, it's dark atmosphere making Jess cringe at the sight, the large red thunder and lightning clouds hitting it. As they continued their ride, a Demo-bat on the lamp shade noticed them, it squawked and that alerted Vecna. The quintet were in deep shit now, once they arrived at Eddie's trailer the quintet dropped their bikes.

''That's gotta be a Guinness world record, most miles travelled inter dimensionally,'' Robin exclaimed.

''Just inhaled a bunch of that crap, it's stuck in my throat,'' Steve coughed.

When Eddie pulled open the door of the upside down version of his trailer there was a portal on the ceiling. ''Looks as though yours and Dustin's theory was right, this is where Chrissy died, like right where she died,'' Eddie said.

''I think there's something in there,'' Robin implied.

''What the hell is that?'' Steve asked, pushing Jess behind him out of the way.

There seemed to be something or someone prodding through the gate, Jess looked up and saw her brother. ''No way, you smart cookie,'' Jess laughed.

''Hi there!'' Dustin giggled, the whole group was with him. Lucas, Max and even Erica.

''Hi,'' Nancy smiled.

''Holy shit, this is trippy,'' Robin exclaimed.

''Bada-bada boom!'' Dustin shouted, feeling so proud of himself which of course he should be.

Dustin and his friends placed a mattress down, Eddie looked up at it. ''Those stains are uh...I don't know what those stains are,'' he exclaimed.

''Sure you don't,'' Jess laughed rolling her eyes.

Dustin tied a bunch of sheets together now. ''Not quite sure how these physics are gonna work but here goes nothing.'' He threw the sheets down into the hole which was up for Jess and her friends, Dustin took his hands away from the set of sheets. ''And if my theory is correct...abracadabra,'' he exclaimed. ''All right pull on it, see if it holds.

''This is the craziest shit I've ever seen in my life and I've seen some crazy shit,'' Erica said as Dustin high-fived her.

Jess pulled down at the sheets, it seemed to stay in the correct spot and didn't budge whatsoever.

''Okay, guess I'm the Guinea pig,'' Robin said, clambering her way up the rope. She landed on the mattress. ''Oh, thank god that was fun.''

Nancy went next.

Then Eddie, he glanced at Jess and Steve before doing so, seeing if they wanted to go first. ''All right, I guess I'll go,'' he said, grabbing a hold of the rope and clambering up.

Jess and Steve exchanged a look at each other, Jess planted a light kiss to his lips. ''See you on the other side, Jessie bear,'' he exclaimed.

''On the other side,'' Jess smiled, gripping a hold of the rope and clambering up it. When she thought she was about to hit the mattress however, she felt herself falling, she kicked and grabbed at the air, she was falling, falling through a giant black abyss. Jess landed on the ground with a massive thud, when she pulled herself up however she realised that she was in the upside down version of Nancy's pool. Everything around her was covered in vines and when she looked around, there laying by the side of her was a corpse of Steve with his limbs twisted in places they shouldn't be twisted and his eyes missing, there was massive holes where his eyes should. Her whole life flashed right before her eyes.

''You can't save them, Jessica, wherever you go, whatever you do your boyfriend, your brother and all of your friends they will always be in danger because of you. You cannot save them, you are worthless and your friends and family will die and there will be nothing you can do to stop it,'' a loud cold gruff voice exclaimed around her.

Jess whipped around trying to find any source of who said that to her, she fell to the floor and placed her hands to the sides of her head and shook it frantically as tears poured from her eyes. Would this be the way she was going to go out? Was she going to die? Why her? Why did Vecna choose her?

Outside of her mind, what Jess didn't know was that Steve was panicking, he shook at Jess's shoulders, and her eyes glossed over all white. ''Jess, Jessie bear, Jessie bear stay with me, okay? I can't lose you,'' he exclaimed through tears. ''I love you, stay with me, stay with me, I'm right here, I'm right here.''

Dustin noticed his older sister like this, he couldn't bear to see it and so he attempted to slide down the sheet rope himself but Eddie pulled him back. ''We have to do something, try sing to her or something, try singing her favourite song. What's her favourite song?'' Dustin exclaimed.

''Umm uh...shit....I don't remember,'' Steve said, he thought for a moment before it suddenly clicked in his brain. He started to sing the lyrics to 'Cherry Bomb by The Runaways.' ''Can't stay at home, can't stay at school, old folks say ya poor little fool.''

Meanwhile back inside of her mind, Vecna was still tormenting the poor girl. ''Do you remember what you did, Jessica? Or have you already forgotten? When I kill someone I never forget? Jessica!'' Vecna exclaimed.
