The next morning, Jess awoke to the sun streaming through the windows; she rubbed her eyes and glanced at herself in the mirror that was in her room. Her hair was a mess, she quickly grabbed the clothes she was going to wear today, a pair of navy blue jeans, a red sweater and her usual converse before heading into the bathroom to have a shower. The young girl placed the clothes beside the sink and stripped down, stepping into the shower and turning on the water, letting the warm content of the water fall on her skin. After she finished washing her hair and body, she switched off the tap, stepped out and grabbed the towel from the towel rack and wrapped it around her body. Jess then plugged in her hair dryer and started to dry her long brown locks, after her hair was fully dry she pulled on her clothes and brushed her hair down to the ends, and then spaced it out evenly so it was separated out beautifully laying on her shoulders. She smiled and dabbed on a little bit of makeup, just her usual mascara and blush, she grabbed her backpack from her room and slung it over her shoulder. Her brother and mum had already left so as per usual she picked up the piece of toast that her mum always left out for her daughter, she walked out the door and down to school.
After a long day of nonsense boring exhausting content of work that she wasn't even going to use in her future the young teen was about to head over to the middle school, she was going to help her brother and his friends with something but saw a group of people sitting on the hood of Jonathan's car. It wasn't any of her business but she had the urge to go over there anyway since Jonathan was approaching them. ''Hey man,'' Steve exclaimed, standing up from the hood of the car and walking over to Jonathan as Jess stood by them, wanting to know what's going.
''What's going on?'' Jonathan asked, slightly confused.
''Nicole here uh what's telling us about your work,'' Steve replied.
''Yeah, we've heard great things,'' Carol exclaimed, snapping her gum as she spoke.
''Leave him alone Steve,'' Jess shouted.
''This doesn't involve you Jess,'' Steve snapped at his ex-best friend. Jess was a little taken back, he hadn't snapped at her like that before.
''And we'd just love to take a look. You know, as... connoisseurs of art.''
''I don't know what you're talking about,'' Jonathan muttered softly but still being heard by Steve and his friends.
''Oh no?'' Steve said as more of a question. Jonathan started walking away but Tommy pulled him back and ripped his backpack off of his shoulders and handed it down to Steve.
''Hey,'' Jonathan muttered when his backpack was taken from him. Steve stood it up right. ''Please give me bag...just come on.''
''Give him the bag, Harrington,'' Jess shouted, reaching around to grab the bag from Steve's clutches as he started opening it but Tommy stopped her, grabbing her by the arm and shoving her into the hood of the car, pressing her arm behind her back. Jess struggled, trying to get out of his clutches but it was no use. Tommy was strong.
