The next day, Jess sat at the chair in front of her desk and flicked through a biology textbook, studying every bit of it until she heard a knock at her door. ''Come in,'' she exclaimed, not bothering to look up from her textbook.

''Jess?'' Dustin's voice questioned.

''Yeah?'' Jess replied.

''It's about Mews.''

Jess rolled her eyes. ''Dusty, it's your turn to clean her tray, if you think I'm doing your chores for you, you're delusional.''

Dustin groaned. ''No, this is more serious than that, I kept this pet that might be a baby Demogorgon and it ate Mews.''

Jess now looked up from her textbook, she slightly turned around and glared at her brother. ''What?'' she questioned, her mouth stood agape as Dustin grabbed her by the arm, dragging her downstairs.

''Dusty, baby you sure she's not in your room?'' Dustin asked.

Dustin raised his hand up indicating for his mum to calm down, Jess stood with her back pressed up against the wall and a foot pressed up against it while Dustin pretended to be in a conversation on the phone. ''Thank you so much Mr McCorkle, thank you so much. You are true lifesaver, all right this is great, thank you. You have a good one. Bah bye now. All right, you too.'' Dustin placed the phone back down on its holder and turned back to his mum.

''Okay, great news,'' he smiled.

''They found her?'' Claudia questioned.

''No, but they saw her wandering around in Loch Nora,'' Dustin replied.

''How did the poor baby get all the way out there?''

''I don't know. Lost, I guess but they're gonna look for her and Jess and I will stay here, just in case they call again. And you're gonna go help look? Yeah? Yeah? Give me hug. Give me a hug. Go get her. You're gonna find her,'' Dustin exclaimed, as his mum gave him a hug before heading out the door.

When Jess knew her mum had left, she walked up to Dustin from the wall. ''So, we're just not going to tell her?'' she asked.

''What are we going to say Jess? Mews was eaten by a baby Demogorgon from an alternate dimension, she'll never believe us,'' Dustin replied. ''Just help me, okay?''

Jess rolled her and eyes and helped her brother lay out a trail of meat to the outside, hoping the baby Demogorgon would follow it so the two siblings could trap him. They were hiding in the shed, watching the situation unfold as the young Demogorgon headed outside, the two of them peered out from the shed and Dustin yelled, he whacked at the young creature and hit into the cellar. Jess helped Dustin bolt the lock shut. ''I'm sorry you ate our cat,'' he said, leaning over the doors.

Dustin then looked up at his sister. ''We have to get Mews and bury her,'' he exclaimed.

''W-what?'' Jess stammered, as Dustin handed her a shovel.

''You don't want mum to find Mews, do you? She'll go hysterical,'' Dustin replied, starting to dig a hole.

''I suppose your right but I can't believe you kept something you knew was dangerous and if that wasn't bad enough you didn't have the heart to even tell me,'' Jess explained, digging into the ground.

''Yeah I know, I'm sorry I should have told you but I got so busy and it just slipped my mind,'' Dustin exclaimed.

''Hey, it's okay don't worry about it. Let's just get poor Mews buried before mum suspects anything.''

Dustin nodded and the two buried Mews in the hole that they had dug up. Jess paced up and down the house, rubbing her temples trying to process what the hell was going on. The Upside Down was back and she was prepared to face it head on but was frightened at what could possibly happen this time.
